Thanks. I did manage to activate a work permit there so I think they do but don't want to advertise that fact as its a small border I just wasn't sure if it was ok for PR landings but if they can access the info for a work permit, I'm sure they can do the same for a PR

Yes especially from young people. The IEC permits are already over-subscribed for the UK so there will be much more competition. For PR I don't know. Australia is always a bigger destination...

yeah no worries. I wasn't having a dig :) My background check has been in progress since my meds were passed so thats why I asked as i dont fit the usual pattern of 'as soon as background check goes in to progress, PPR is soon after'

They are working on January applications full stop and some December applications. If my background is already in progress but ive had an email update does that mean its ok?
