    My Oath Ceremony Experience Today

Thanks for the helpful and detailed post. I am hoping as well, that voting for a self-proclaimed neo-nazi won't change anything :)

Almost 1 year since I applied for citizenship.....

Maybe they have an issue in their home country?

    Mississauga Citizenship Applicants

This is pretty awful, I'm genuinely sorry to hear it. I really hope this gets resolved soon :( I honestly don't mean to poke the bear, but with such a huge trip planned and with processing times through the roof due to legislation changes - why not be on the safe side and request her PR card...

    November 2017 - Citizenship Applicants

last thing, I decided not to drive and take the subway, it is right there! I do not know if this is an option for you, but it allowed me to focus on being relaxed and focused on the test.

    November 2017 - Citizenship Applicants

See post above, whatever option you choose, plan to be there early not to arrive just on time. Plan for traffic, parking and other potential challenges - the reason I mention this is because the test was so busy that latecomers were not admitted - which is a shame, to wait all this time and...

    November 2017 - Citizenship Applicants

I stopped checking this forum regularly and stopped worrying about this process, seeing people get frustrated and blaming everything for the delay - a couple weeks later, I got a test invite. / Test Invite - 24 August / Test date - 17 Sep Good luck everybody.

Agree - the majority of the comments are now made up pure speculation; armchair experts of government protocols and process; and a strong sense of "me-first" entitlement. A sincere good luck to all applicants - I hope you get through the next few months unscathed.

C'mon screech - we are going in circles here - either way, it has no bearing on applications today.

Well, nobody can say with any certainty what the government will or will not do, it's speculation - but I will give you that it is possible that the feds will want to demonstrate their willingness to make changes following the removal of the backlog of influx of citizenship applications, or...

ZingyDNA - If you want to discuss this then fine, but let's keep it civil and this isn't about me and what makes me happy - i'm just stating a different opinion to yours and actually it is not one that was made up by me and it is shared by others. But I'll bite: This needs to be considered in...

Not sure I understand what that even means. So using the term Indian is okay to use just because everybody else uses it? Sounds like an interesting way to avoid calling out anything. Um ok, I'm sorry you were so offended that not everybody on this forum agrees with you. Kind of reminds me...

My point was that there is a reason people use the term illegal for one group of people breaking the law but not for every other - but instead of answering, you ask another question and deflect by claiming politically correctness and then make it personal - doesn't really make for constructive...

No. If that were true then why wouldn't you call other people breaking the law illegals? Of course nobody is less worthy and deserving - that is EXACTLY the point.

Literally not one person on this thread has stated that refugees should be exempt from following laws- on the contrary, everybody is in agreement that people who falsely claiming refugee status and are not entitled to it should be prosecuted for breaking the law. Suggest not putting words in...

Except we don't call murderers illegals and we don't call tax evaders illegals. Only refugees who are unworthy of being allowed to be here get called illegals - it is rooted in racism and it denigrates people to be lower and less deserving.
