You will have to come to India and send your passports to NDVO for stamping. There is no other option.

I think u can inform this to NDVO, then go for correction. Because the passport number will change. Attach both the passport while giving to NDVO for stamping. Try calling VFS and Canada high commission for better advice.

As I am in the same case, its better to fly to Mumbai and do from there. Without passport you cant stay in UAE or any other country other than India. So better go to India and send to NDVO from there.

I don't think much about showing the funds. As per my knowledge, whatever sources you are showing must be in your name. And I think the securities, bonds, retirement funds all are considered as the POF. Anyway better consult with the consultant. And also the POF documents are the bank statements...

I would suggest to mail them, attaching scanned copy of the exp letter in company's letter head. Attach a copy of some letter from that employer showing your correct employment period in company's letter head and seal. And also try to send them hard copy.
