In my view, the change of name post marriage should reflect in the marriage certificate. If the marriage is registered with her maiden name, then it wasn't a nice move to change her name in the passport as all the other docs including marriage certificate bear her former name.

Generally, a PCC whether issued from PSK or local police station would have the same name as mentioned in the passport. You can verbally request the police officer to mention her former name but I am sure if it will work.

Well the marriage certificate was registered with her new name.....i think its just the fact that one of the application forms has an entry where you fill whether you have used any other name and we entered that.....which is the reason why i think they are asking for it.

OK guys let me share this..PPR √ at 8.54am abu dhabi time from colombo VO(check..i am just bouncing off my seat in my office...excitement has no bounds..)

Need help from Seniors:

1.)ECAS is still showing In Process..
2.)I am in Abu Dhabi so can i submit my and my spouse visa at Canadian Embassy at Abu Dhabi? As they have asked me to submit my passport to NDVO as per below comments.

1) Passports
Please provide passports or travel documents for yourself and each accompanying dependant, along with a copy of this letter, to the visa office in New Delhi. Please see the VFS Visa Application Centre (India) website for details on how to transmit your passports to the Canadian High Commission http://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/india/.

Please note that permanent resident visas cannot be placed in Diplomatic, Official or Military passports.
There must be at least one blank page in each passport.
We are unable to issue a visa beyond the expiry date in your passport.

3.) Or can i contact Vfs Abu Dhabi to courier my passport to NDVO?

4.) They has asked 2 recent photos of myself & my spouse. Any Specific size or requirement pls share.

2) Photographs
Please provide two (2) recent photographs along with your passports for yourself and each accompanying dependent. For instructions on photo requirements and specifications, please visit: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/pdf/5445EB-e.pdf

5.) Also if you see passport para it says send passport & travel document along with this copy of letter. So which travel docs to be given? and which letter?

I have 45 days to submit it as written in my mail..

Guys pls share your views soon to process my passport in a day or two.

( Once you receive this mail you cannot control your excitement level..i bet on it.)

Wish all the guys a speedy PPR and also thnx a lot of help provided..

Pls solve my query soooonn...

Congrats!!! :)

Answers-

1) It will change to Decision Made soon :)

2 & 3) Yes, send a CSE to NDVO and also contact local Visa Office...u can even contact VFS Abu Dhabi- responses have been mixed....You can also contact forumites GRACEOFGOD, and nishesh3003 who were in a similar situation to you to see what they did..they have got their Visas stamped...

4) Photo requirements are given in the pdf link u shared :)
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/pdf/5445EB-e.pdf

5) It says Passport OR Travel Document :)..So for ur case, only Passport...and just the email printout will suffice as the letter...since they don't give it in pdf form...

Good luck!!

Hi,

As you have mentioned, it is passport or travel documents (Not and travel documents), so u can give the passport (old and new), PPR mail print out and photographs as per the specification (Write the date & studio address * seal if have one on the backside of the photo).

Please let me know if you can submit the passport in Abu Dhabi VFS for NDVO, because I'm also confused with this.

Thank You

I would like to ask a question on POF update by Visa Office.

If a Visa Office asked that a POF be updated, can anyone share what POF documents that will suffice?

Will stocks (shares), pension fund (retirement savings) suffice enough as POF at visa office?

Thanks.

I don't think much about showing the funds. As per my knowledge, whatever sources you are showing must be in your name. And I think the securities, bonds, retirement funds all are considered as the POF. Anyway better consult with the consultant. And also the POF documents are the bank statements sealed and signed by the manager or concerned person. For securities and bonds, statement of demat accounts which can be approved by the concerned people in stock exchanges and all.

So just 1 DM and 1 PPR for today.. :o

Maybe tom we'll see a flurry of PPRs..

Hello Friends,

Please help me with your experiences,

I got DM on 1st May, but have not got PPR yet. What is the average time between DM and PPR and is there anything to worry?

Thanks

At CIC, i submitted pension fund (retirement savings), shares (stocks) and my balance certificate.

Now, someone is telling me that if Visa Office ask to update my POF, that i should move all my cash to my savings account, print 6 months statement and send to VO.

But i am of the opinion that, VO should able to take shares statement and pension fund (retirement savings) as POF.

Hello Everyone,
Just a week before updating regarding my marriage, I received PPR and submitted my passport (My timelines are on the left). . . .

Question is: If my wife did her meds on 02/04/15 am I right in assuming that she will get PPR soon (b'cos applicants with similar medical dates are getting).

Or they have different procedure and I can expect delay in application . . . . Is there anything wrong in my assumption

I would appreciate your views and suggestions.

Regards,
AJ

Are they delivered? As far as I know, only a letter is delivered intimating the applicant that the PR card is ready to be picked up! It's a short march to your PR centre, then!

PR card is mailed, not picked up at CIC.
