    I did, thanks! Got it approved on October 19 and in the mail very shortly thereafter. Took just under 3 months despite a 4 month estimated wait at the time of application.

    Heyoo, I was in the same situation and now have an OWP (valid for 2 years) and a study permit (expiring end of 2017). So yes, it is possible. Hope that helps.

    Will hiring a lawyer make any difference?

    Did not go with lawyer but did have a consultation for about 250 cad which we found very helpful. Helped us outline specifically what we needed, then we went from there.

    I am not sure! It could depend on how long ago you sent the app. I would call and send an inquiry to ask if they would still accept your payment now. If they have not opened the application, they may, but this is just a guess.

    I have not checked the most recent processing times, but when I applied it was four months from the day the application was received. Remember that you have to be in status though - if you are out of status you need to wait for AIP.

    Hi folks, I got my OWP approved on October 19 and have now started working. Should I inform CIC about that with respect to my PR application? It def. changes our financial situation to the better, but I am not sure if that matters. Any opinions? Thanks!
