One of my friends (OINP, Inland, AOR - 13th Nov) got PR email yesterday. He witnessed the so called Ghost Updates over the weekend, then an email on Monday asking if he was still in Canada. Within an hour of confirmation he received the PR email.

@Bilybongosky :) . Even i was curious to know what is this Ghost Update. Bit of googling, one form of ghost updates i understand is when the Application Status changes from 'Submitted' to 'Application/profile updated' and when you go and check, absolute no updates. And then status may change to...

Dear @legalfalcon need your help/suggestion here. I am an inland candidate (AOR - Nov 2019, OINP) and awaiting PR decision. I am living with my family in Canada. Due to some personal situation at home, my spouse needs some support over next 6 months for sure. Covid-19 has complicated the...

Dear @Bilybongosky what specific help did you ask for from the MP? Does contacting the MP helping in only providing the status updates similar to what GCMS notes provide or is the MP taking up your case with IRCC? I plan to contact the local MP, hoping she will respond, but wondering how far can...

For my spouse I answered the the first statutory question as 'Yes' instead of 'No'. I guess it was the radio button option which got wrongly selected and I may have missed reviewing my answers before final submission. Has 'XYZ' been convicted of a crime or offence in Canada for which a...

@ohbruh Nothing to celebrate my friend. :-) Eligibility was passed some 8 months ago and then criminality initiate, security not even initiated. I ordered GCMS notes in June and got the response in 3 weeks I guess. and then i figured out in detail as to what the status was for my application.

@nns14 We are both in Canada for last 2+ years. It was my foolishness that I answered one statutory question wrong for my spouse and messed it up. :-( And I could figure it out only from GCMS notes. I submitted the clarifications 4 weeks ago. But again I dont know if that matters at this stage...

Can completely understand your situation. Pretty much everyone in the same boat. In case not done already please order GCMS notes and that will give you all the clarity related to your application stages. Beyond that not much can be done my dear friend.

Hey thanks @Bilybongosky. Not sure, I will check with him. His current work permit is valid though. He was exploring options. But challenges/complexities in his case are that he is unable to find assignment within the organization, the his organization doesn't keep onsite employees on bench...

Agree the impact can be huge and implications can be far reaching. I personally know of someone in-land candidate in senior role (with highschool, college going kids) has been invited to apply for PR, he has paid all fees and now things are on hold. He is completing his assignment, he is on ICT...

See the logic is simple. They are not issuing anymore PRs even for In-landers because of the current Covid situation, amidst lack of employment and job losses, mounting unemployment they don't want additional burden on the already stressed system (due to addition of these PR holders who wont...
