Hi Andy, is there a way for us to know when our file reaches Ottawa? We received AOR on July 9th and need to send police certs. Can we send them to Ottawa right away even though file must still be in Sydney or in transit to Ottawa? Or we wait for a couple of weeks? Thank you..

Wow, another 2013 applicant got MR, he/she is the 4th, I believe. Do you know some more details of your friend's application? Does his/her ecas status show "in process" or "application received"? As to your question, the entire process usually takes 8-11 mos. AOR is issued before the 2nd month...

Try asking your employer to apply for Accelerated LMO if he's eligible, I believe he is. That way he can have A-LMO within 2weeks.

Why not apply for BOWP to get rid of the lmo stuff? You are eligible since you have received your AOR and your permit would be expiring next month. If you still want to work with same employer and he wants you to have a closed permit, then apply for wp (paper application) within 2 wks before...

Based on this OB 521 link, I think it should be good. You based the NOC on your LMO which still had the 2006 version, but as long as it can be correlated to an NOC in 2011, it is acceptable though the VO will assess it under the 2011 version...

I doubt though if CIC would approve the BOWP application (with beyond 4 months validity of wp at the time of application) when the reason for early application is unemployment caused by voluntary resignation. Did you voluntarily resign from your job?
