I got AIP in August of last year and they asked for a medical re-do in Feburary AND my UK police report. I didnt hear anything from them for 8 months. Order your FOSS notes to see whats going on.

Just called the CIC hotline and they told me to get an interview it's going to take about 6 weeks. They couldnt tell me when the interview landing date would be because it hasnt even been scheduled yet. A little more waiting I suppose.

for me it took 8 months after the medical check, but thats also because they didnt even start the background check until I updated my medicals. It could be different for you.

I'm actually in Gatineau Quebec. Here I thought I would have to land in Montreal because Quebec likes their immigrants to land in Quebec, but they're doing it more geographically. I'm currently waiting on my landing date, I'm pretty excited/nervous. Everyone says there is nothing to worry...

Does anyone know roughly how long does the letter take between getting the decision made letter and your local office letter for the landing date?

Hey! Nice first post. My letter told me that I have been approved for PR and I should expect to hear from my local Ottawa office soon and to have my 490 dollars at the ready for when I land. I too called up and the lady on the phone seemed to really not want to be there that day or something...

them asking for you to re-do your medicals could mean a few things. It could mean that they're looking over your file to see if they need anything from you before you land, OR, they're just now getting aorund to sending off for your background checks (mine was the latter, saddly, which took 8...

Same for me, it's going to be the 2 year mark in August for me too. I kick myself everyday for not filing outland. I would have been done by now.

Still waiting! It's been almost 7 months since they sent off my background checks.

Well, not only is it summer, but also alot of local visa offices have closed and they're also re-vamping a lot of the visa processing, so it will be slowing down for a bit.

I think your only option for now is you wait for the rest of your applications to come back. They're going to say the same thing as they open the other envelopes too and send them back. =/

Go on ahead and get a OWP. Background checks can take a few weeks to 8-9 months.

They have since given me my work permit. When they made that note it was for a previous visitor's visa, so I assume I satisfied the next IO of my funds. I am going to have to renew my work permit in November, which shouldnt have an issue because I now have my own income.
