Newbie question: For surrender certificate I plan to send them via post. I am unsure what the final bank draft amount needs to be. Can someone who has sent via post help me with this query?

Reach out to them via the web form. Also, what does your tracker say. I was sent an email stating that they had not received my signed Oath form (which I had indeed sent). When i called up CIC, they said they had in fact receieved it and may have sent that email by mistake

Depending on the office and how far you live, you can get it within 2 - 20 days. As soon as you have the certificate, you can go to a walk in passport centre (which you will have to check) and get your passport within 2-9 business days.

Yes, they emailed me the instructions a week before my Oath ceremony.

YOu should reach back out. This is highly unusual. Or wait another 2 weeks and then CIC will send you a copy.

Depending where you are located, you should go for a walk in appointment. I did not wait for CIC agent to call me back. Go early in the mornig, atleast 45 minutes before they open and you will be able to get the passport done within 15-30 minutes

Now go apply for that passport :)

If it helps, I know a lot of people who had to wait 8-15 days before getting their certificate. As for passport - walk ins are allowed in KW and you can get them within 9 working days.

Exactly! I had to wait for a long time for my Citizenship Confirmation letter and the last thing I want is miss my flight because Canada Post challenges.

Yes. And because I have had an unfortunate experience with my citizenship certificate (that took 13 days to arrive), I didn't want to take a chance. Also, the Kitchener Passport office is excellent. One of the best government offices I have been to in Canada.

In case you need your passport, I strongly urge you request for Urgent Processing. I have heard of some folks who had to wait ~4 weeks before they got their citizenship certificate.

You could let them know you need it within 9 working days by paying $50 additional as RKM has mentioned. I personally didn't need it that early so was happy with Dec 1 (two weeks). My bigger concern was making sure I could it pick it up myself so that i don't have to wait for it arrive by post -...
