Sorry to ask you this again SK, but the website says you need to submit your Canadian passport with the OCI application for postal application. Can you confirm that you did not send your original Canadian passport - just the copies?

Aah got it. I wanted to know about the OCI. I travel a lot for work and would prefer not to send my Canadian passport along with the postal service so thinking of going for a walkin in case they just check the original and then give it back to me.

Did you have to submit your Canadian passport with the application even though you did a walk in?

oh okay. So if you have walkin, then they check the originals there and you don't have to submit it with the rest of the application?

Do it online. I am in Toronto and it took me ~7 weeks to get the Surrender certificate back.

I had a really pleasant experience at the Kitchener office. My passport will be ready tomorrow. It 2 weeks to get it.

It is the Service Canada office which deals with Passport requests as well. I did not wait for Service Canada to get back to me. Went in as a walk-in application. Was there by 7:45. Gate opened at 8:30 and was out by 9 AM

You should get your certificate within 2 weeks IMO

I took my Oath on November 3 and my tracker got updated on November 8th. However, I have seen people waiting for ~4-5 weeks before that happens. Are you an applicant from Mississauga or Ottawa because I know most people waiting for their certificate were from the latter.
