Hi Century, The problem here is the agent is not ready to give out information on When the file was received and by whome. She only knows that it was received after 15th June 2014. Any suggestions?

Yes, the FD certificate issued from the bank states that I am the nominee.

The affidavit states that I am the sole nominee for the FD and I am free to use this fund for the purpose of Canadian Immigration.

I checked with SBI, HDFC and HSBC. They told me it is an RBI rule and applicable for all banks. I dnt want my application to be rejected for this reason. Anyone from India who has chosen DD as their mode of payment in the same scenario?

I am from India. I did give a call to the HDFC bank before making the DD as my salary account is at HDFC. They told me they don't issue demand drafts in CAD. That is how finally I ended up in Thomas Cook. :'( It is an RBI rule and applicable for all banks i guess :o
