If any date on the application is pre-Citizenship, it will raise flags. Prior to taking the Oath, one is not a citizen and is not eligible for a Canadian passport.

If she has not yet taken the oath (assuming she hasn't since you speak as though she hasn't left Canada yet), she cannot have the passport application signed yet. The forms cannot be dated before you take the oath. Of course, you can lie about the date they were signed, but that's your own business.

My Canadian passport arrived prior to traveling. I would advise against trying to use your now-invalid PR Card for anything-- it doesn't prove anything. You are no longer a PR at that point and the instructions were to dispose of it. I would highly recommend taking the original certificate but...

This is false. In many cases it's taking well over two weeks for IRCC to even mail the certificate out, much less for it to arrive.

Does anyone know how long it takes for Elections Canada to update? I took my oath 2 months ago and I'm still not registered.

Winnipeg is also hosting ceremonies for other cities. My office was Vancouver yet my oath was with Winnipeg, so it seems they're shuffling cases around at least.

You're not sure why they are validating identity for something as serious as legally taking an oath?? Literally no one does anything of this magnitude without verifying ID. I work for a local govt and we won't even issue a business licence without seeing valid proper ID.

Realistically it takes longer than a month after you get the certificate to apply and receive your passport unless you request Urgent/Express processing and have a valid reason for it.
