Can I drop my middle name on new passport?

That's good since I don't know what's new after I've left for so long. Let me leave it like this and see how it pends out. At least not something that needs my immediate attention when I have so much to deal with in my current settlement phase. Thanks Steaky!

Can I drop my middle name on new passport?

I had it that way (driver's license and bank accounts in different order of given names) and it didn't have a problem like 20 years ago when I was still resident. Only now I am resuming my residency that wherever I go asks for "legal name" and makes me confused if my passport name is no longer...

Can I drop my middle name on new passport?

Using example names... In my citizenship card it says: Wai Sum Amy Kim In my passport it says": Amy Wai Sum Kim As mentioned, I have everything on the passport name (ie. Amy Wai Sum Kim) - banks, health care, all accepts passport as primary identification document. For me, I've been using my...

Can I drop my middle name on new passport?

I'm confused on this too. I have my given names inverted on the passport and was allowed years ago. Now when I'm using my passport name as "legal name", I've been told name on my passport is not a "legal name". Is that right? Banks, health care all accepts passport as primary identification...

    Name embossed debit card?

Those timelines are for my wife. I sponsored her while I was citizen living abroad. 3 weeks ago, I resumed my Canadian residency and she landed as a new immigrant. However, I don't see much difference on what we need to go through in settlement here... except returning citizen doesn't get all...

    Name embossed debit card?

In BC, it takes 3 months to get the Health Card. So thinking the easiest/fastest is to get a debit card. I picked up printed cheques at the bank and the teller asked me for 2 IDs, even I don't know from when does it become so strict on identification requirements.

That's right, 1 year from medical date. Best is to get notes so you know the dates exactly for medical.

    Name embossed debit card?

As a newbie in this country, you all know it's so important to have proof of IDs (at least 2) in your pocket. Do you know which bank still issue name embossed debit cards? I tried applying for credit cards, all declined. I'm a returning citizen, apparently my credit history has gone sound...

Name issue on passport vs citizenship card, returning citizen

Well, not that I have a choice now. I'm not sure if I need to go through any "tests" to reinstate my old BCDL and I can't risk not having a full license to drive on my own in this settlement phase that lasts into at least early April. Thank you for the reminder though, I'll stay more alert...

Name issue on passport vs citizenship card, returning citizen

How is that possible? Isn't it written clearly all new immigrants and returning citizens can use their foreign driver's license to drive legally for 90 days?

Name issue on passport vs citizenship card, returning citizen

Name on my passport is A B C where A is my first name, B is my middle name and C is is my last name. So is my SIN and Canadian tax returns. Passport office allowed that: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/passport/apply/name-change.asp On my citizenship card, name is B A C. I've left Canada for 15...

    E-sign rental agreement

I'm able to rent a place. It's through an agent, I haven't met the owner. Agent told me the rental agreement will be e-signed. What exactly is that? And how would I present a formal copy of the rental agreement (for address proof on anything)?

Don't think 1.5 months is too long a wait. Keep ordering notes to check on it.

    Switching bank shorting after landing?

Great! From where I am currently at, less than 6 months of history at one bank is enough to create problems switching to another bank. I've picked the right place to move to.
