    LMO processing Time - Alberta

Hey, that's great news! Congrats!! It also gives me some hope as my potential employer is resubmitting the LMO application this week. They will be including a cover letter stating the issue for denial the first time has been remedied. (denied because the job description on Job Bank did not...

I think we could all be more patient if we knew that our LMO would be approved. :)

WORK PERMIT: employment history past 10 years

You continue to ask the same question in the hopes of getting a different answer. Both rjessome and I have explained that you can't put a post secondary education on the WP application if you have not completed one. I would think that in the section for your 10 year work history that you would...

Congrats!! You're fortunate to have received it so quickly. There are still some that have been waiting since November.

WORK PERMIT - Entering highest level of education

I honestly don't know for sure. According to this it doesn't sound as though you can put anything for post secondary education. Hope that helps. If it isn't required for your job then I wouldn't worry about it. If there is a place for writing/typing then maybe you can fill in the...

WORK PERMIT - Entering highest level of education

Refer to the "Guide 5487 - Applying for a Work Permit outside Canada" at this link: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5487ETOC.asp#5487E4 It doesn't say "completed" but if you are only *studying* for a Bachelor's Degree but don't yet have one you would not say that a...

WORK PERMIT - Entering highest level of education

I am not familiar with the work permit application. But I would think it is referring to *completed* highest level of education.

g, I've been keeping an eye out for a post from you. Ugh, can't believe you are still waiting. Apparently there is no rhyme or reason as to how these are processed. My fingers are still crossed for you!! Keep hanging in there... 8)

    LMO processing Time - Alberta

Karan, I'm sorry but I really don't have any answers to your questions. I don't know what the current LMO processing time is for Alberta. I just know mine took 14 weeks - applied mid November and found out it was denied 14 weeks later. We are advertising now and i will post my times when we...

    LMO Processing Time

tryagain, You're fortunate to have gotten yours in only 5 weeks. This is in Alberta? There are many who applied in November and only recently got their LMO or are still waiting. I would be applying for my work permit at the border so would get it immediately.

    LMO Processing Time

alicia, The employer unintentionally had slightly different wording in the job description on Job Bank than they had on the LMO application. It's the little things like that... :( Hopefully it will work out this time. I have been applying for jobs off and on for 6 years now and finally...

    LMO Processing Time

I don't know how it works if the ad was posted and then the Job Bank site went down. I would find out before moving forward with the application. You wouldn't want it to be denied if they say it was not advertised the full 14 days. It is taking up to 15 weeks for an LMO in Alberta. Mine was...

Got a job offer: how do I get a positive LMO?

It is a good idea to familiarize yourself with the process as sometimes employers at new at applying. General LMO information here: http://www.hrsdc.gc.ca/eng/workplaceskills/foreign_workers/index.shtml To find out the prevailing wage for your NOC, enter the job title and location at this...

    No Job offer letter

You are correct that you can't get a work permit without a job offer. You can apply for jobs and hope an employer is willing to try for an LMO. I'm don't know a lot about spousal sponsorship but I think there is a point during the process where you will be able to get an open work permit...

    LMO processing Time - Alberta

I'm sorry you haven't heard anything yet. :( Try to hang in there. I don't think a long wait necessarily means something bad though. They just seem to be extremely behind in processing. At the same time, having a Plan B is always a good idea. The employer submitted the ad again on Monday...

    LMO processing Time - Alberta

gershscott, Unfortunately, I have no idea what's up with Job Bank. I now know that my employer posted the ad and then the site went down. So now we are in limbo until it is back up. :( racxblacx, I have seen a few posts of LMO's being approved in less than 12 weeks. I don't know if it...

    Salary negotiation after LMO

There is also the possibility that Service Canada will feel that the prevailing wage the employer put on the application is too low and will say they need to pay more. If that doesn't happen, it can't hurt to ask, in my opinion. Just be polite in asking if the wages are negotiable. Good luck!
