    September 2020 - Citizenship Applicants

It is very nice to know that you are concerned about tax dollars and so on. Very noble of you. And it is also very noble of you to be concerned about who gets "real value" in an FOI request. However, it is not for you to determine for others what constitutes real value for them. And, as...

    September 2020 - Citizenship Applicants

What makes you think that people order them in order to improve or speed up the process?

Responding to such requests is the job they are hired to provide value in! Some of us who have requested such notes have found them helpful; it is not for you to decide that for us. If you don't find them helpful, that's fine; but don't generalize to others.

    September 2020 - Citizenship Applicants

Slows down what process? GCMS notes are supplied by ATIP staff, who do such work in relation to several government agencies, and they are not employed by IRCC. In any case, if people find value in repeatedly asking for such notes, that is the right and choice; it is not your place to be a...

2020 applicants with Background verification- In Progress

As far as I can tell, the background check involves more than the RCMP fingerprint check. So it is possible that that part has been done but the rest has not.

Citizenship test: Collective action required, or expect endless delays, years. Example of the effective lobbyng of people awaiting spousal sponsorship

What you suggest is very reasonable. But it would require that IRCC officials work a bit more in each day., after goofing off for 18 months. I don't see them jumping at that "offer".

Citizenship test: Collective action required, or expect endless delays, years. Example of the effective lobbyng of people awaiting spousal sponsorship

But surely, those are workers in the Quebec provincial government, whereas IRCC employees work for the federal government.

    Fingerprint request twice

The email follows in a couple of days after you see it on the tracker page. There are many places, other than RCMP, that are authorized to do the task. Just use Google for your area.

Citizenship test: Collective action required, or expect endless delays, years. Example of the effective lobbyng of people awaiting spousal sponsorship

And yet there is a thread of people complaining that online applications are being ignored!

2020 applicants with Background verification- In Progress

And what will the MP do? Are there really any cases of MPs helping move things along? As far as I can tell, the MPs just get a brief summary of what is in the GCMS notes for anyone who cares to get those.

    November - 2019 Citizenship Applications

Doesn't help. MP just gets a little information of what you would get from GCMS notes + "covid problems, numerous delays".

You always write a lot but actually say very little that is useful, Mr. Expert. :)

    December 2019 - Citizenship Application

And mine is even more ridiculous. "Test ready" since Jan 2020, but no invitation to a test! (Note: I am a Jan 2019 applicant.)

If you live in Canada as PR for 3 years but without a job, can you apply for citizenship?

Look at the stated requirements for citizenship application. See employment as one of them them? There's your answer.

Citizenship test: Collective action required, or expect endless delays, years. Example of the effective lobbyng of people awaiting spousal sponsorship

Even for paper applications, why would updating to show the results of a test require access to the original paper application? Much of the basic information is already computerized even for a paper application, as anyone can tell by looking at GCMS notes. It's not as though someone has to pull...

Citizenship test: Collective action required, or expect endless delays, years. Example of the effective lobbyng of people awaiting spousal sponsorship

If you look at the GCMS notes now, you will see that it has all the information on physical presence, and GCMS notes are obtained by just looking at the computer records. So why would anyone need to look at the paper application?

Citizenship test: Collective action required, or expect endless delays, years. Example of the effective lobbyng of people awaiting spousal sponsorship

Only partly true, I think. There is information that does not require accessing original paper application. For example, if the fie is "test ready" (and even the applicant can see this by just looking at the sketchy GCMS notes), then there is no reason to delay the test for 2018/2019...

Citizenship test: Collective action required, or expect endless delays, years. Example of the effective lobbyng of people awaiting spousal sponsorship

What Canada says it stands for and what it actually stands for are two very different things.

Citizenship test: Collective action required, or expect endless delays, years. Example of the effective lobbyng of people awaiting spousal sponsorship

I think in the new tracker they just changed everything they could to "In Progress", other than "oath", for obvious reasons, just to fool people into thinking that things are happening.
