I don't believe there is an age limit for a student visa. You are never too old to learn. You just have to prove that the purpose of your trip is indeed to study.

The only issue is when you are coming back to Canada, they will want to see a copy of your study permit or TRV. So if you have a TRV, you won't have issues. I am only mentioning this because when I was a student, I never applied for a TRV so I always used my study permit.
