Only if you want to work. If you don't plan to work, you can apply to change your status to visitor if you want to stay. If you don't plan to stay, you can go back to home country and wait for your PR visa. If you leave, just make sure you let CIC know what your current address is at all...

Does time spent overseas counts towards PR and Citizenship

If you are working for a Canadian employer and get sent overseas on business, the days would count towards your PR residency requirements but not for citizenship. To qualify for citizenship, you must spend 1095 days in Canada during the 4 year period before you apply. That means that you can...

Quebec, more than 183 days absence

If you know about it, it is better to clear it up with RAMQ right away. They may give you a special permit to stay away longer if you have a good reason. I know OHIP has something like that. If you don't tell them and they find out, what could happen is that you lose your coverage and only...

    SINP sensitive question

I do not think this is a serious enough crime to make her inadmissible. Like you say, it was a warning, not a conviction. Tell her to stay away from crime though. If she keeps doing stuff like that, at some point, she will make herself inadmissible.

So why do you want to immigrate to Canada?

I did not know there were people in Canada who still get paid with checks. I have always gotten direct deposit. I dislike the 2 week paydays though because your rent and everything else is monthly. I do not think you can say that it is so easy to get into your own country as a skilled worker...

income Tax and Canadian Citizenship application process

They will not refuse your citizenship because you did not file your taxes on time but not filing taxes could also mean that you were not really living in Canada so it is possible that it will result in a residency questionnaire and a long delay of your citizenship because of that.

    sponsorship by a friend

Get a travel/emergency insurance for the time you are in Canada until you can get OHIP. If you apply inland, you can expect 10-11 months until you will get first stage approval and a work permit (and probably qualify for OHIP but still have to wait 3 months) and after that another 9 months...

I meet the PR card renewal requirements, still got called for an interview.

If you don't get called in for an interview, it takes 4-5 months to renew but if you are travelling soon and have proof, you can ask for expedited processing. If they do an RQ and want an interview, then yes, it can take a year or more.

    sponsorship by a friend

In the Manitoba PNP program, they used to allow 2 friends to sponsor a 3rd but on their page now, I do not see that any more so they may have closed that option, see http://www2.immigratemanitoba.com/browse/howtoimmigrate/pnp-eligibility-criteria.html

I know a guy who is a long distance trucker, drives from Edmonton to California back and forth all the time. Lets say he is definitely not rolling in money and he is hardly ever home. First of all, is your husband working in a skilled position? If the answer is no, you do not qualify for an open permit. Second, do you need a visa to visit Canada as a tourist? If the answer is yes, you would have to apply for a visa in your home country embassy. Have your husband send you...
