URGENT!! Travel to India on e-visa right after oath without Surrender Certificate experience

You don't have to carry your surrender certificate anywhere. I've been to India twice since becoming a Canadian. Wasn't asked to show it. My daughter travelled on e-visa - no questions asked about SC; as late as Feb '23.

How Can i know that urgent certificate approved or rejected?

Closed does not mean certificate has been expedited. The only options is to wait for it to arrive.

    Passport pages for citizenship application

ALL pages for ALL passports valid during your eligibility period. If any of them are non-Eng/Fr, include certified translations for each irrespective of the date of that stamp/endorsement. If you do not include any pages, IRCC has no way of verifying whether any stamps exist on the missing pages...

Oath Outside Canada due to medical reasons

If I recall correctly, you posted elsewhere that your DM took 48 months. If it is only an inconvenience, you may want to make that trip unless it is against medical advice.

e-Passport Next Generation: New Canadian Passport Design 2023

Same same. Got mine last year. There might be an even newer design before then! or use the passport extensively for travel to countries that use two pages for the visa. You'll need a new one soon :)

Citizenship Interview with no PR card but renewal PR application in process

There aren't too many choices in this case. Go through the interview; chances are that the officer would already be aware of the loss of your PRC and the application for renewal/replacement. Whether you get 'flagged' or not, will depend on the merits of your case. Be absolutely sure of the...

Travelling to India right after Oath

If it's an in-person oath, you get the certificate immediately, apply for a passport the next day, get it in two days, apply for an Indian e-visa, takes another couple of days and you are good to travel. If you leave Canada after the oath, without a Canadian passport, you won't be ably to fly...

Getting back to Canada after travelling to India on an Indian passport

Whatever route you choose, please update here, if you'd like to. Much has been written about a 3 month grace period, but not heard of anyone successfully using it without consequences.

An ordinary Canuck can hardly be compared to Meng Wanzhou! That is related to global politics and world order.

Travel to US soon after oath

Many members have posted about a three month grace period, but I have never read any posts about anyone who has claimed to use it and knowing Indian bureaucracy, I would not have used it, unless it was a life changing travel. With in-person oath, you can walk out with your certificate and then...

Which passport to opt for Canadian born baby to Indian Parents

LOL. I beginning to wonder if this is a troll post or a serious question. If the child wants to travel internationally, till your 3-4 years time frame return to India, they will need a passport - you may be aware of this rule. It's not that complicated. A 2x-3x primary education cost in India...

Which passport to opt for Canadian born baby to Indian Parents

There are 100s of 1000s of Indians who are applying for Canadian citizenship, but here's a case that has everything ready but is fine to deny the child their Canadian citizenship. Wouldn't it be simple to get the child a Canadian passport, get an OCI, and move back to India in your 3-4 years...

Urgent processing: Has anyone applied with the reason of sick family member?

The criteria for urgent processing is clearly stated - if you don't tick any of those boxes, it will be denied. I've tried. Didn't work - even for the oath.

    Address Check

They are well within their right to call and/or check every single bit of information on the forms. Willful submission of wrong information is misrepresentation. Assume that they check, so state the facts, even if they seem incredible.

    Oath & special authorization

Given that oath rescheduling can be tricky at times, unless your travel is life changing, it just might be worth getting the oath out of the way. A little money spent in moving tickets / hotel, probably saves the stress of wondering when you are going to get the next date and whether there might...

Help please - Flying in for Oath / living abroad

in most cases, certificates are recd within two weeks, even though exceptions have been reported here. There's no way to expedite the certificate. It doesn't hurt to ask while your documents are being checked prior to the online oath. I asked and was given a rather terse reply - "can't be...

Returning to India after applying for Citizenship

All of this is correct except the Oath abroad part. So far only two cases reported here of applications taking oath outside Canada which are not corroborated with any evidence, so one should take it with a pinch of salt. During the pandemic, virtual oaths became a necessity. There are some...
