I don't think so. This is part of the reason why they give you a certain deadline for turning in your passport or passport page photocopies. Many times when the medicals expire, Buffalo will extend them and you will be none the wiser (a good thing, people at the Damascus VO, or what used to be...

page 3 of Country Specific Instructions: United States has a choice between the four satellite offices, that's true. But OP wrote, "When selecting the USA Offices where I'd like my application processed......" and I actually didn't see "USA" at the time I read and responded, so anyway, I thought...

Applicant thinks a baby will help his chances

Doubtful. Canadianwoman is one of the most knowledgeable people on this forum. Now you may counter that knowledge and good sense are two different things, but I strongly believe that knowing all she knows about immigration from being on this forum and her own personal experiences off of it, she...

Applicant thinks a baby will help his chances

Canadianwoman, I think you already answered your own question here. What a selfish piece of trash this person is. Why on earth would the first woman care what happens with his PR application? She's already wasted a great deal of her time on someone who will push his grandmother off a cliff if it...

Sure they are. Are you looking at the Choice of Interview Location page in the Country Specific Instructions form for the United States?

    Damascus/Spousal since Jan 2010 or late 2009

Hi Damascus, I'm standing in the Montreal metro watching the news on one of those tv screens say that the Canadian embassy in Damascus is closing and of course I thought of y'all. I can only hope that there are generous rewards for your patience in store at some point in your lives that will...

GCMS is just the new version of CAIPS. It was rolled out about a year or less ago (depending on the VO) and replaced CAIPS. So as Calgary-Bound said, even if you select CAIPS they will send you the notes from GCMS, as that's the system in place since the transition.

Exactly. Just because you must land by May 1 does not mean you need to be ready to set up shop permanently in Canada with all your possessions. Spend some time making out a goods to follow list. You have no due date by which to bring those items to Canada, you just need to inform CBSA you're...

Yeah, step 1/sponsorship approval actually used to be even shorter than a month - it was as short as a week about a year ago. I actually dodged a bullet applying when I did because the month after I filed in May - June - the processing time went up from 1 month to two. The AOR thing is something...

I didn't make a record of it but I'm basically 100% sure I used the post office box address because I went with Xpresspost Canada and not a commercial courier and CIC's instructions indicated that the municipal address was only for couriers. But I think you're fine delivering to either one with...

You should have sent yours to the P.O. box address unless you used a courier, in which case you should have sent it to the municipal address as the commercial couriers will not deliver to P.O. boxes.

Sounds like your circumstances are pretty complicated. Are you positive there isn't anything in IRPA or CIC's guidelines preventing you from filing a new application for PR while the judgment on your previous PR application is being contested through judicial review? That's probably the biggest...

No problem. You're not doing anything wrong, it's just that you only have a couple of posts and you need at least 10 (I think) to add stuff on "Forum Related Information" and send a PM. So just try again after you make at least 8 more posts. I'll try and add you as soon as I can (or GoGoGo...

When paying online, it technically shouldn't matter who's name goes on the receipt. You're both on the file so they should be able to trace it to your application either way. So I'd assume it would work the same way with paying through a financial institution. If fact someone on the forum once...

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

I haven't heard of an instance like that before and I think it's more than likely a fluke incident. I've had three documents from CIC/CBSA all sharing the same xxxx-xxxx Client ID: my study permit, the AOR, and my COPR that's currently stapled into my passport now that I landed. When my PPR card...
