I believe there's a category in the Canadian immigration programs that grants you residency after you complete a 1 yr work experience in Canada. It must be Noc 0, A or B work experience.

I couldn't tell about the quality, but when I was looking for colleges, these two came into picture. Canadore is located in a very remote location (North Bay) while Conestoga is in a bigger city (Kitchener) and one hour away from Toronto.
I believe that when they say "8 months" they refer to two semesters, which is your case. I will also be taking a two semester program from May to December.
SDS is only available for some countries. It's supposed to be faster that regular applications, but I've read in this forum that in these times it's been all the opposite.
I start in May as well (if my application is accepted). But I'd recommend to wait and see how the travelling restrictions will be in April. Right now nobody knows exactly how are the testings/quarantines going to work, apparently not even the government.
