Does this mean its virtually impossible to get a job? I would get a 3 year PGWP. In those 3 years is it possible to secure 1 year experience? I know this depends on person to person but are there cases that people with a PG Diploma can't secure a job even after a year? Please guide me

Some people struggle to secure a job and some don't. These are the risks:

- You may struggle to secure a job.
- You may not be able to secure a skilled job. The work experience you secure must be NOC A, B or 0 skill level to count for most immigration programs. You may secure an unskilled job that doesn't really help you to get PR.
- You may secure a skilled job and get a year of work experience but still not have enough points to be selected for PR.

Most of these PGD diplomas seem to get PR by getting NOC code for restaurant managers, Customer Service Manager, Production Line Manager, etc. If you are fine with that then PGD is fine

Even if one doesn't get PR and the PGWP expires, they can go to their home country, work for a few years and apply with CEC right? As long as the canadian experience was in the last 10 years?

Canadian work experience has to be within the last 3 years (not 10) and must also be skilled (it can't just be any work experience).

But yes, you can apply from outside of Canada.

In the last ten years, how many years of skilled work experience in Canada do you have?
In the last 10 years, how many total years of foreign skilled work experience do you have?

You must

  • meet the required language levels needed for your job for each language ability
    • writing
    • reading
    • listening
    • speaking
  • have at least 1 year of skilled work experience in Canada, in the last 3 years before you apply—you can meet this in a few different ways:
    • full-time at 1 job: 30 hours/week for 12 months = 1 year full-time (1,560 hours)
    • equal amount in part-time work:for example 15 hours/week for 24 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
      • You can work as many part-time jobs as you need to meet this requirement.
    • full-time work at more than 1 job: 30 hours/week for 12 months at more than 1 job = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
  • have gained your work experience by working in Canada while under temporary resident status with authorization to work

Thanks both.

I think I'll proceed with the PGD for May 2021 intake and apply for visa ASAP. Do you think I'll get a response by latest July 2021?
Also chances for rejection? around 10 backlogs and 58% in bachelors. Related field of study. No work exp.

Hi
I have a question
I have completed my one year experience in Canada and my CRS score is 445 along with my husband.
If I work another year in canada my score is going to be 456 adding 11 points, whereas one year foreign exprience will give me 26 scores making my score 471.
I wanted to know if its possible that working one year in canada and next year in a foreign country will give me 26 points or is there any catch here?
Thanks in advance

I believe there's a category in the Canadian immigration programs that grants you residency after you complete a 1 yr work experience in Canada. It must be Noc 0, A or B work experience.
