Safe Time to apply for PR Card renewal before the first five-year anniversary of PR landing date.

Just post it once, not in every thread related to PR renewal. Given you would have completed more than 730 days in Canada prior to the 5 year anniversary of your landing, plus a margin of error, it's not terribly surprising you recieved your new card.

You would have to be married to go that route. There is however no wait time between divorce and getting remarried.

Passing US border with valid PR, but not meeting PR obligation 730 day

Well, not sure that's the best legal advice you could pay for. CBSA is pretty inconsistent in their application of the rules. More likely depends on the mood of the officer.

Can I apply for asylum in Canada if I have an asylum case in America?

Wanting to "live freely and work legally" isn't actually grounds for asylum. What are the actual grounds you are (or plan) to claim?

And you've managed to gather this insight over the course of the 6 days it's been in effect? And as a side note, diplomats don't generally process temporary resident visas....they have "people" to do that.

Section 44 Report after CBSA allowed Entry

Absolutely agree....politicians have an innate skill when underestimating the complexity of issues. The level of complexity (independent tribunals, appeals processes, staffing, court availability, international agreements) all make immediate change unlikely. Not to mention the "flavour of the...

Section 44 Report after CBSA allowed Entry

The only argument to this I can think of is the likely impending change in government. I can see the conservatives making every effort to enforce immigration regulations to the letter if the do form the next government.

Can a sponsored parent be elegible for OAS+GIS?

Well that's an interesting question... It would seem that if she was newly sponsored, she'd be ineligible, but since she's already lived more than 10 year in Canada, she might be able to claim. " If you moved to Canada as an immigrant If you are an immigrant who is sponsored If you are a...
