    MARCH 2014 OUTLAND APPLICANTS

If you live in the Middle East, why did you send the application to Canada? The reason I'm asking is because since you do not live in Canada, CPC-M cannot verify your income.

    MARCH 2014 OUTLAND APPLICANTS

Special? No, just the usual - stapled a $20.00 bill to every second page, with a $50.00 every 10th page. ;D Umm, no, the app was fully complete though - medical done, fees paid, etc, etc. We've been married for five years, so have lots of paperwork vouching for marriage legitimacy, and...

    MAY 2013 PINOY APPLICANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!

@@@@@@@@ The rule that the woman mentioned (being allowed to sponsor from outside of Canada as long as you can prove you have an intent to return to Canada) applies to citizens only. Since you are a PR, you must be living in Canada to qualify to sponsor. Occassional short (2-3 week) trips...

    VO switch?

Yes, of course I would indicate intention to return to Canada...but it's kid of dependent on getting the visa for my wife too, "chicken & egg" scenario in a way. Very complicated, I know, as I would also have to inform the European employer within a certain time if I/we would just stay there.

    VO switch?

If you leave Canada, you will then have to prove your intent to return to Canada once your wife is granted PR. Are you prepared to do that from another country? If you can not prove your intent to return then your wifes VISA will undoubtedly be denied.

I must be asking a pretty tough question????????

Just a few corrections: 1. Language - for couples who don't speak the same language, CIC would be quite interested in how they communicate. If can both communicate in English/French or Spanish(in this case), it should be fine. But then again, if the wife would be the breadwinner, she will need...

I must be asking a pretty tough question????????

As a Canadian Citizen you can sponsor her outland. You can sponsor her for PR (permanent resident). After she has been a PR for 3 years only then she can apply for Canadian citizenship. Once approved for PR she would be able to work/study in Canada, but not before that. They dont really care...

sponsoring my wife from mexico (urgent please help)

You can sponsor her for permanent resident. After she has been a PR for 3 years she can apply for Canadian citizenship. You would use family class sponsorship, either inland (if she is in Canada) or outland (if she is in mexico). Once approved for PR should would be able to work/study in...

Spousal Sponsorship - Sponsor Requirements suggestions needed

Dear all, I've gone through the application guide as well as having studied this forum, I have the following thoughts regarding my own application as the Sponsor: Major concern: 1) Since I filed my 2012 tax return (Ontario) as non-resident, would filing my taxes for 2013 (thus filing...

Can I Come back after PR

Yes exactly. Canada also allows a PRs time spend outside of Canada with their sponsor, to count that time towards PR obligations. CIC can only judge the intent, and that's it. So even if the plan all along is for a sponsor/PR to remain outside Canada, if they can just show enough intent to...

When approved how long before we have to move? (outland)

So, how long would I have to close my affairs? Is this allowed, or an they "catch you" by not living with ur sponsor right away? I need to give 2 months notice to quit my job, and if I get my CoPR after October 13th I am screwed. Although, guess I can resign and wait til the last few days before...

When approved how long before we have to move? (outland)

The absolute limit for "LANDING" is the expiry date on the COPR document. As stated above, this depends mainly on medical expiry dates. However, that does not commit you to "settling" until you are ready to do so. You can do what I did, which is to "land" as soon as you are able, to gain PR...

New Citizenship Bill Thursday Feb 6th

As noted earlier, the intent to do something is not necessarily binding. You are already required to show intent to reside somewhere under PNP or if sponsoring a spouse from overseas. These are not enforced, as circumstances can change. As long as you don't leave the day after you apply for...

New Citizenship Bill Thursday Feb 6th

The more I think about it, the more I feel that the 'intent to reside' is ridiculous. Here is an example: - I apply, sign the 'intent to reside' form. At the time I intend to reside in Canada. 9 months later, my mother or my wife's father or someone has a stroke. She ends up back in her...

New Citizenship Bill Thursday Feb 6th

I disagree. Under the current system, a Canadian citizen residing overseas must demonstrate their intent to return and reside in Canada in order to sponsor their spouse for PR, which is not viewed as a violation of their fundamental right to mobility. How is this any different?

    Got the CoPR but...

Yes, the CIC is aware of his past. We sent the Embassy the court documents of the crime that he had committed when he was a teenager. We decided to do this (even though his record was sealed when he turned 18), for the fear of possible misrepresentation that might come back to haunt us.

    Got the CoPR but...

Yes, exactly what I was thinking - he has to answer COPR questions - have you been charged with a criminal offense etc ( if he has already declared during the process then they know it but he has to say it else it might look like he is hiding ) As for the lady, I know what you mean by her...

    Got the CoPR but...

Yes, I understand exactly what you are saying. You are indeed on US soil, however, so long as you tell them at the booth you are wishing to flagpole, there should be no issue. The lady you are speaking of, only got this answer because she appeared to be trying to hide something. When you are...
