I think pre-arrival letter is not a part of the processing time procedures , its just an email(letter) to give you some tips and let you know how to prepare yourself when you move to Canada but still its a good sign. And there is no time frame when you will get the ppr after pre-arrival email...

That's good, biometric remain in her file for 10 years. They probably started background check in early stage which is good save you some time.

No update for me as well, i have booked a ticket to go see my wife i will leave this Friday for 12 days. If i received my medical exam while i am there that will be great otherwise i will try and see if possible to request a meeting with the canadian embassy in amman if i am allowed tho.

This is a ghost update like you said which mean an officer open your file to check few things but did not make any changes. As far as i know from different threads and users this is a good sign as they are working in your file hopefully you will hear something good soon

From what i am hearing from you guys there is no point emailing them then, i am sure i will receive the same answer as my application in process for 4 month only.

If i want to email Amman office should i use the web form or use this email amman.immigration@international.gc.ca. Or it does not matter which one i use. just want to check up on my status and see what is next step on my application? From your experience do you recommend me sending them email...

Since your application passed 6 month, Have CIC requested any new documents or have they asked you to re-send documents . for example the marriage certificate and police certificate are valid or 6 month. Have they asked you to re-send a new ones,

Have your husband did biometric before or visited Canada before?
