It's only 7 months that you've been waiting, and there was a stike so you may have to wait a bit longer, unfortunately :( Did you think about ordering the GCMS notes? Those will tell you what is happening with your file. You can order them online and I believe it takes 4 weeks to get them...

Every embassy is different. I can't answer this personally because I am sponsoring from Turkey. Their timeline is 16 months and currently, we have been waiting 6 months. Sorry.

That is good for the students! I feel bad for students who miss classes because they can't get a visa! I think the embassy said those files are their #1 priority!

They may ask for an updated medical exam. If this happens it will delay the PR visa. Just see what they say. Have you heard anything yet?

Don't worry about online status. Sometimes they don't update it right away. The good news is that your application is in Ankara!

When I didn't know if my file transferred or not, I called the 1-800 number. Some people mention that the queue is ridiculous but I was speaking with someone within 10 minutes and he informed me that my file was transferred to Turkey. I would call if you're that worried.

My husband's police clearance was in both Turkish and English. I imagine it would be the same for Israel.

Hi! If you are applying from Israel, use this guide: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3911e.pdf You will need a background check from both more than likely. Check with the American Embassy, they should be able to tell you where to go to get a background chack and police clearance...

Hi! When it says decision made, CIC will send you a letter in the mail telling you if you are eligible to sponsor or not. After that, you will have to wait for your spouse to be approved for sponsorship. The next status change is your spouse's status. If they received the application in Ankara...
