Can I leave Canada immediately after the oath ceremony?

Hi, I'm a resident of the United States at the moment and I'm able to apply for Canadian passport from the US. Does this mean that I can leave Canada immediately after the oath ceremony and download the citizenship certificate from the US? Or will I need it to leave Canada / enter the US? Anyone in similar situation?

The portal does not place country specific restriction for certificate download.

Hi, just wanted to ask, if we are to leave Canada after oath without a passport, what document should we use to come back to Canada? Thanks!

Your passport, that you can apply for from outside Canada.
Alternatively, your citizenship certificate, if you're just coming back by land.

You can still travel on you native country passport. However, you should be aware whether your home country allows dual citizenship. Other than that, you can travel on your old passport and inform CBSA (if your asked) that you were waiting until you return to Canada to apply for the passport. That process is a few months anyways, if you have to travel now, go ahead.

A Canadian citizen won't generally be able to board a commercial flight to Canada without a Canadian passport - with exception of those for whom the second citizenship is USA. (More or less as is case for PRs). (They can leave Canada fine on whatever document the airlines/receiving country will accept)

Those who have visa waiver passports won't be able to get an ETA, and same for those who need a visa - won't be able to get one. All PRs will have cut their PR cards during oath.

So they either have to get to a land border (entering via USA), get a Canadian passport, or (in very rare cases) might get emergency arrangements through a consulate. Some visa waiver passport holders can apply for an electronic thingy.

This is true. I forgot the key element that the PR card would be cut. You essentially would not have any border-entry document for Canada. Unless you can get a passport done with an embassy overseas or do the US/Canada border entry, you are travel restricted.

Not only that. Even if someone somehow keeps their PR card, they can't use an invalid piece of ID, as PR cards are specific to PRs, and Canadian citizen can't have one.
It probably works at the registration counter of the airline overseas, and once at the border the CBSA has to let a citizen in, and even in the case there's no consequence (I have no idea, people don't tend to say how they gamed the system in a public forum and how it went for them :d), well, the person shouldn't, the same way they shouldn't use their twin sibling's IDs or any other simar shenanigans.
