Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

I guess this is true. If people have no travel plans, and things are moving within a reasonable timeframe (e.g., CC charge within 2-3 weeks), they should use the status update option if necessary. But I guess the phone problem is a government issue. All government agencies have long waiting times. I don't thing people would call CRA if it's not important, yet as mentioned you would need to wait for a long time to get through. Also, I think during the pandemic, in-mail passports was the main method of applying, and created a huge delay on the delivery centers, and as a result on the call centers because it takes longer to process them than in-person option. In in-person they would tell you when to pickup your passport, so, there is more certainty than in-mail, where things are less certain
Yes. I just wish people were more patient and not freak out until they absolutely have to. Freaking out in this thread only makes others worry unnecessarily.
Processing times are just estimates, not an exact thing. Sometimes applications are processed faster, some take longer, but if you followed the IRCC instructions correctly in most cases your application will be done with no problems, so you shouldn't worry. You just have to wait

Definitely you are not only one of them, obviously you have nothing else to do than troll.
if anyone is trolling here is you. You say you they received your application on Feb 9 yet you've been complaining and whining since Feb 23. That's just 2 weeks after submission. Stop complaining so much, because all that does is stress others here unnecessarily

I replaced one letter in the city of birth as it appears in my COPR because it's the correct spelling, I discovered (I didn't think the city of birth is that important until I realized it appears on the Canadian passport). I hope this won't invoke extreme scrutiny to my file and thus cause excessive delays

I'm in a similar situation. The name of my birth city has different spellings, especially when you translate the name to English. For my passport I used the same spelling I put down on my citizenship application. My COPR had a different spelling. I'm not worried about it. They have all my files, they know it's the same city.
In your case it's the same. They have all your files. They know what city you mean. You'll be fine
