We do not know how much money will be available on their trip. Perhaps, you should tell us how much they have now.

Btw, how much did they show last year?

Thanks for the reply. Never applied visitor visa for my parents before. And currently they have around $10,000 cad as liquid funds.

You said it here:

My parents have applied for a visitor visa before September 7, 2021. They are fully vaccinated for Covid-19. They don't have any immediate needs to travel. However they are waiting for a decision. Should they re-apply via a new portal or just wait. Moreover, do they need to submit a web form where they can attach the details regarding vaccination and recent travel.

Kindly please help,

I am applying for my Parents for my Convocation I have few questions:

1) They do not have balance in their joint account and will get a support letter from my brother. Source of income for my Dad is agriculture so we are planning to sell some plantations that were grown on our farms and get J-forms stating from where the money came. Will it be safe to do so before few days of appying?
2) If my brother send money to my parents account just few days before, will it be ok? If I show the receipt from where the money came along with letter of support?
3) My university doesn’t provide letter of invitation so I will be writing a general letter. Is their any other document that I can use to support it?

Thank you very much.

How long are they visiting? Do they have travel history, jobs/employment letters, ties to home country?
1. That is fine as long as it is documented. Other than that do they have any funds of their own.
2. That is a big red flag. Can your parents afford a visit without your brother sending them money?
3. You can write a letter of invitation, a university would not do that.

1. They do not have a good balance but with j-farms, they will get around 8000CAD.
2. As mentioned earlier they will have around 8000CAD and my brother would write a letter of support with 20kCAD in his savings and employment letter.
3.Thanks for clarifying

How long was the visit? $8000 is not a lot if you take into account airfare. Where does your brother live? If not in Canada, support is not actually funds.

I am planning to have them in Canada for 3 weeks. My brother works in Dubai & financially support my parents. I too will have around 15k but I don't know whether my money would work as it is for convocation. For accommodation, for sure I can support them. Any advice will be helpful.

That isn’t a lot of their own funds for a 3 week visit. You will want to write a strong letter of invitation saying you will provide accomodations etc. Your brother’s support may or may not be considered since he doesn’t live in Canada.

Not sure when your convocation but they may want to apply soon.
