Which local office did you get the fingerprint request email from? The name should be in the email address.

Same here, I live in Toronto as well but the email was from Vancouver. Does this mean that our local processing office is Vancouver? Or do all fingerprint request emails come from there?
Not all fingerprinting requests come from there, but I don’t know if this office was used just for the fingerprints or not.

What I know is that processing speeds vary per office in a very random way. A specific office might be slower but then pick up the pace later on. It all depends on CIC’s own internal procedures and resources. It’s really hard for us to infer much based on the office’s location I think.

I see. I was just trying to find out if this was gonna be our processing office or not. I guess we'll be sure of this once we get more emails. And as you said even if our office is Vancouver, it's not a good or a bad thing. The processing speeds will differ from one application to another.

Hi guys
I’m from alberta and submitted my application on july 17 ,2021 via online portal.
Total days count in canada 1096
And received AOR on October 12,2021.
I left canada on November 21 and informed ircc about my absence. I’m still in India and coming back by the end of March.
So there is no update about anything on my application.
So, question is do i have to call them once I’m back or they’ll know automatically.
I got married and renewed my passport too.
Do i have to tell them about all the changes via web form
Please guide me here if anyone knows anything

No need to update CIC when going abroad as a PR. They will know, and your time outside of Canada after your citizenship application was sent is irrelevant.

But yes, you should submit a web form to update them about your changes in marital status and passport info. I wouldn't call as it's much more work for you and also for CIC agents that should be focusing on more important matters. The web form is perfect.

Your timeline seems normal to me. Sometimes it takes many months to move from the AOR stage.

Incorrect- you do have to notify IRCC if you leave Canada for more than 2 weeks, and is explicitly mentioned in the application.
This is how it goes- until the moment an applicant is called upon for the oath, checks are done from a criminality/security (also called as prohibitions).

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/canadian-citizenship/become-canadian-citizen/after-apply-next-steps.html

Please see here where it says you have to notify if we leave the country for over 2 weeks in a row.

I just guessed because there is no activity in my application since the AOR
I thought because I’m absent that’s why they are not processing it
But I’m confused and worried now
any idea why there is no activity

Oh, I didn’t know about the two weeks thing. Thanks for pointing it out.

I got lucky I guess because I went abroad on vacation twice after my application and for pure luck, each of them were exactly 2 weeks, lol.
