Called IRCC this morning as I was supposed to have my oath on January 13.

In fact they removed me because the ceremony was only in English, they assumed I was only speaking French. They can't put me back there and ask me to wait. This is infuriating as I flew back from France on January 7th from visiting my family only for this ceremony.
This is sad to hear. I hope they reschedule you for the ceremony same date.

Updated.

That's one of the faster turn arounds from test to DM, though. Every now and then, IRCC does surprise us with a real quick progress on a stage.

I hope they wont make up to it by taking a year to schedule for the ceremony lol

doubt it - they are very specific that you must show that you have a paid ticket.
How can I possibly book tickets under my current passport and PR card if I am going to tear the card up in a few weeks. Will the airline allow me change my passport and PR details after booking the ticket

You could buy a fully refundable ticket for a higher fare and then cancel it once you have submitted your application
Eventually this is what I might have to do but even then the question remains about the Passport # and PR card

Yes, you don't need passport or PR information to book a ticket. That information is only required at check-in (generally 24 hours before your flight).

To buy a flight ticket, you use your name, gender, and date of birth.

Think about all the people who renew their passport between buying and taking their flight, lose their passport, passport gets stolen, etc.

If you have your previous home country's passport, book a one way ticket (to avoid putting in PR# or Can Pass info) to your home country, that is refundable and cancel it when you get the passport

You don't need to provide passport or PR card information while booking tickets AFAIK. Just your name, email and phone # will do.

You can add your APIS later.

Oh I'm not saying it's logical. Just that's how it is right now.

Thanks to all the responses, I got confused because I have all my info. saved into the Air Canada app and remember entering the PR card # but now it makes sense, they ask that during check-in.
