I called them last Thursday at around 10:30am Ottawa time. The number is 1-888-242-2100. They just updated on the current status of the application.

Hey actually I had recently called them via TextNow and they answered queries regarding the status of the application.

Whats the status on your app? Did yhey give more info than whats available on CIC profile?

From what I know, after you get married and submit your spousal PR application and somehow land in Canada on a visitor visa or some other visa, you can apply for an open work permit which you can keep extending until you get your PR. Spousal PR application can be applied from within Canada only and your spouse cannot leave Canada until the application is finalized.

If you are already in Canada or have some other visa to enter Canada, then get married, apply for spousal sponsorship and apply for OWP after that. If you are not in Canada, then your spouse needs to be physically present in Canada, apply for spouse PR and stay in Canada till the application is finalized, you will not get any work permit if you are outside of Canada and getting a visitor visa after getting married is pretty much impossible which is the worst part about sponsoring an outland spouse.

Not sure how your own express entry application will factor into all this.

According to what you have suggested, I can go to Canada using my visitor visa and then get married, apply for OWP, start working and wait for a decision on my application. When I received my GCMS notes in October 2021, the visa offices were CIO and Ottawa.

I just got the response to a webform I raised in December 2021 and the visa office is now Accra, Ghana.

(i.) Is it possible that the file has been approved and Accra is just to send the PPR mail?

(ii.) Or would Accra further-process the file?

According to what you have suggested, I can go to Canada using my visitor visa and then get married, apply for OWP, start working and wait for a decision on my application. Simultaneously my spouse can file a spousal sponsorship application. Hope my understanding is correct?

This is my understanding from what I read online, I think you should consult with an expert to understand this process better. Also, I think you can apply for an OWP after applying for spousal PR sponsorship not before.

Hey gang, I got PPR but its a portal access. I am outland applicant.
I just checked my email and It says its a portal access. I guess I reply to my email and wait. It but I am almost done now. Happy in a confused way.

Send a web form and let IRCC know that you are not in Canada. IF you were in Canada previously, have you changed your address?

Also, reply to the email and inform that you are not in Canada.

FSW is dead and CEC is ded.

They just mentioned it’s all stages passed pending final decision. I passed remedicals and also submitted the schedule A forms in Dec 2021.

Yes hope our apps are finalized soon enough. Tomorrow is my 2 year AOR anniversary
