I had a dream I went to my MP's office and asked them to check the status of my application. For some reason my application was being processed in Hawaii and there were 2 applicants ahead of me, Only 2 haha.

Ok. I think the VPN or Webcam monitoring issue I mentioned may have an affect after all.

My wife gave the test the next day (Dec 18th) after me and passed. I had ofcourse disabled VPN for her test.

Now, her status is shown as COMPLETED on the tracker (Dec 20th), while mine isn't.
Any update on your tracker? Does your test say completed or still in progress?

Apologies if this has already been answered earlier but I noticed that almost everyone on the tracker who has received a test invite had to go through an interview (column J). I'm curious if you pass the test what do they ask in the interview?

I sent a comment to immigration canada about how i thought the information provided with months between each status update was unsatisfactory. In addition, I expressed how displeased I would be if I had to renew my PR card again (expires AUG 2022) only to cut it up upon citizen grant.

The PDF that @rajkamalmohanram was quite enlightening. I did not realise how much of an impact this COVID garbage has had on their workflow. I guess this is good stimulus to modernise their practices.

I passed the test and did not have an interview (yet, since passing in SEP 2021). I dont think everyone has an interview, unless I have one coming :D

Hopefully the rest of the dream involved a trip to Maui, and chilling on the beach :D

Probably my takeaway would be extreme pessimism looking at this report. If you look around page 175, you will see they were scheduling 60+ citizenship ceremonies per day in early 2020. A year later in September 2021, it's around 20 per day maximum, with many days in single digits (page 180). For January 2022, it's 2-3 per day.

There's an interesting tidbit on page 190 that in April 2021, they did a blitz to try and move as many people to the testing stage, especially if the application was 13+ months old, including allowing people to write the test while clearances are still pending, and that they should be following: test invite, test written within 21 days, 30 days to move to decision made, and 7 days to invite to ceremony.

Page 194 mentions that there is an inventory of over 360,000 applications and a processing time of 19+ months.

Page 217 shows the increase in processing time caused by the pandemic on a per case basis;
Pre-testing preparation has gone from 1.5 hrs to 3
Testing has gone from 1.5hrs to 6 and requires 3 staff instead of 1
There's a note in one of the annex that "time to process a citizenship file for knowledge testing and ceremonies has increased by ~300%

There's lots more but it all just basically says the same thing; there's a ton of applications, they are taking longer to process. They were never really set up to work this way and haven't done a great job building an infrastructure to handle remote working, and like everywhere else in the world, people are getting burned out by pandemic fatigue.
fantastic summary

I completed the test 3 days ago, it still shows in progress for the test which i am sure is normal lol but i cant shake this feeling that something went wrong. did i show the id properly? did the picture take? at the time i was definitely sure but now its like the anxiety is kicking in, like when you leave the house and keep wondering whether you locked the door although you dont have a reason to think you didnt lol

anyway, not really a useful post just thought of sharing

Btw question, any idea if the status tracker is in real time or whether it refreshes once a day like the ecas tracker?

I feel like the 2020 sheet has been updated properly anymore
