Finally we have some news.

Yesterday I checked GCKEY and our application status had changed to Submitted, rather than the Refused it had been showing since our refusal.
This morning we received the Invitation to Pre-Arrival services and ECAS is open again.
How was pre-arrival letter received? Was it emailed to you/your spouse?

Very odd. I'd hope that you could push for the alternative solution, or get the lawyer to have the refusal voided or something. Good luck.
I will have a discussion with the lawyer shortly and ask for the mediation and/or have the refusal voided (didnt know that was a thing)
Thanks for the advice

I don't know for sure that it is a thing but it seems to me there may be a requirement under law or regs for there to be a reason (with ref to specific section of admissibility criteria in the law).

Bad analogy but you can't be thrown in jail for 'crime' -they have to be specific. And they need to provide you details to appeal against.

So I'm kind of guessing that you may have a cause of action a bit different from most cases. But not a lawyer so truly a guess.

I mean we know they think its a bad faith marriage and entered for the purpose of immigration. But we dont know how she came to the conclusions and what were her concerns.
Maybe the lack of concrete details is a way for her to keep us from appealing? I have no clue.

I love your jail analogy i mean its common sense.
