What has your experience been of both countries? All things even, where would you prefer to be?
My experience in Australia is more of a tourist. I went there for sometime to activate my visa. Loved the place. Loved its cleanliness. Loved the ocean and beach lifestyle many Australians have. I did job hunting in Australia remotely. Its hard but not impossible. Few tricks do work there. Like getting a local number and forwarding it to your phone. It helps a lot. I got 3 interviews that way. One I almost converted.
In Canada, I came with my job. So I never faced the job hunting here (touch wood). That said, jobs in tech in Canada are plentiful. With right skills, its not hard to get one. Proximity to US helps Canadian tech scene.
Life in both the countries is quite a bit easier than that in India or USA for that matter.
Immigration in Australia is a bit more organised and predictable than in Canada. Atleast it was back then. Australian immigration is more modern and has done away with a lot of deficiencies that Canadian one still has. No need for PPR or counterfoil. Most records are electronic. I mean, all the stages of my Australian 189 visa happened dot on time.
If I have to choose, I will choose Canada ... mainly because I have gotten used to it. I always loved winters and light snow and Ocean. BC has all that and more. For me, Canada is mostly BC. Though it has a steep price. That being said, Australia is NOT a distant second. Infact it is almost a very difficult to leave.
I came to Canada more because of circumstances that came up and my priority of employment over immigration.
