They are now accepting sinovac, sinopharm, and covaxin for travel and border entry in Canada, starting November 30th. Also, they’ll remove required covid test when trip to the US is short. So it’s good for those in border cities.
Could you please share a link for the official release on this?

Meanwhile, America conducted 3rd H1B lottery of the year. Never happened in the history. USCIS gives a lot of reason, but the only one I could think of is a huge demand of highly skilled workers. They cannot openly tell it to Americans that “You fools are unfit and unable to fill these high skilled jobs.” Meanwhile, Canada is in a dire need of highly skilled workers too and I cannot wait to see what IRCC does other than CEC Grandpa/ma draws.

We all know how bad things became but there’s some progress being made and it’s not even 2022 yet (when I actually expect us to see a more significant positive development). Recently BIL has dropped from 6months to 4months, PPRs have gone from almost nothing in Q1-Q3 to drizzling amounts in Q4. Depends on perspectives, but I’m quite optimistic going forward
Hey, I missed the positive you! Glad you are getting optimistic again. E go better , las las ;).

Demand for IT jobs in India is also very high right now and most of the work comes from the US only. Many of my friends doubled their salaries last year and this year which was also considered impossible before. Even companies who used to offer miniscule salaries/hikes even after changing jobs are offering big packages, things are kind of crazy now.

Doesn’t the US have a cap for H1B either way? Meaning no matter how many draws, in the end it will be 65k + 20k H1Bs total.

Its true story bro. Apart from demand, the Salaries are pretty good in India now. Bangalore, Hyderabad, Delhi, Pune, and Chennai are hot for IT now. Another golden period for Tech workers.

The link says people found jobs in 2 days. Will you go out and celebrate now? lol. I understand the psychology of an immigrant especially if Canada is their only chance but what I shared was a study that measured both citizens and immigrants and found an avarage of 4 months (cba to find studies specific to immigrants now, do your own research) to which you responded with "my friends...". If you know some statistics you can see where you're going wrong. You might get lucky and find a job in a week; or super unlucky and not find a job in a year. Unlike you, I have options other than Canada and thanks to that I am not afraid of facing polls and studies about Canada's job market. What's not right is desperate people who like to bend facts the way they want; but I don't do that and all I care is to look at Canada from an unbiased perspective as much as possible.

I should say I was just like you moving to Canada for the first time; my expectations (and dreams) were on the moon. Do your research and set your expectations carefully because reality won't care about what you or your friends think. Not that I care what you'll end up feeling; I just hate playing the desperate immigrant here especially after the shitshow that's been going on for the last 2 years.

Also I should add that whenever people got bashed for "spreading doom & gloom", they actually turned out right. We were witch hunting fellas who said there wouldn't be a single FSW draw in 2021 right? Keep living in your own dreams but it's also good to know what the reality is.

Here we go again with the I have options narrative. I've seen you repeatedly post that nonsense yet you are frequently running down and researching every bit of news on canadian immigration. If canada is so much shit by all means utilise your so called options.

They do have cap. I guess they chose to break it this year. The demand is crazy. One LinkedIn survey said that 45% of the employees are actively looking to switch jobs now. That is a massive number.

It’s strange how they cap it. Especially one that is the same as 30 or so years ago. It’s already a pain to be approved. Should just make it like Canada’s LMIA, where as long as you prove demand and lack of supply. Here’s hoping Manchin doesn’t screw over reconciliation.

I am hearing people don't get visa appointments in American consulates in India? Is it true?

They cannot replicate Canadian model. Canadian companies hardly recruits folks from outside the country. These US companies hardly recruit Americans for these STEM jobs because they can find cheaper (still way better than American avg income) alternatives. H1B will stay this way as long as corporations need cheap labor.
