I feel the same. This whole boogieman issue is due to TR apps where 80% will get rejected anyways, thanks to chinook. They will probably have cleared CEC and TR2PR by the end of the year. Of course everyone who gets ITA now will have a wait of at least a year next year, because there is enough PR for quota in backlog. But that’s not that bad.

Actually, once they ask the local VOs to start processing these TR application, these numbers will go down suddenly. In Canada they have a lot of push back while using automated tools like Chinook. Outside Canada? Not much.

The critical numbers still are CEC and FSW EE numbers. So long they are in check, its okay.

FSW only resumed November. That table is from end of October. You will only see movement in table on January when people with PPR start landing.

They are currently working more efficient than in 2019. 45K PR landed in one month is a record for them in recent history.

There is more to this story of FSW. A number of application are fully processed waiting for Re-Meds. So the critical resource is doctors in health canada who will approve the re-meds. In CEC we are seeing this first hand. Typically MEP used to take 1-2 week max, it takes like 45 days these days. I believe, minister will intervene in some fashion... May be a public policy to give blanket MEP to any outside Canada folks who applied in last 2-3 years? May be with a caveat to submit a TB surveillance and test report after they have landed in Canada? I mean if one does not have TB, it is less likely to develop TB in 2-3 years out of nowhere. May be they will make IME a bit easier by only testing for TB for such outside canada candidates?

I mean if they want, TB screening test can be faster than COVID test. Its just one X-Ray and 2 minutes of an expert's time.

You don't need to "LAND" immigrants to actually have "LANDED" immigrants.. just like you don't need foreign people to meet your "immigration" targets.
Here is the formula:

There are 255K Economic workers out of that 1.8 millions.
ONLY 48K CEC EE
ONLY 50K FSW EE
and
17.6 K TR to PR

Point is clear, EE and economic immigration seems to be priority for IRCC over other ones like Family (even spouse).
I don't expect massive delays in EE applications beyond this pandemic effect, which I think is almost over as far as IRCC goes. They are processing 45K application a month these days.

Yup, paper change for people who're already living in Canada, and pretend it is actual immigration to seem nice in the eyes of the Canadian public. Canadian public thinks Canada is taking hundreds of thousands immigrants, and this my friend, is the great lie IRCC has been telling them for 2 years. Also this is how people with 72 CRS got PR status in February 2021 even though they had no qualification to deserve it. Simply because, they were breathing in Canada.

Seriously, if a low skilled TR can't get pnp, its because they don't want to leave their comfy ontario residence.

To apply you must:

• have a full-time permanent job offer from a Nova Scotia employer in either
  • NOC 3413 (Nurse aides, orderlies and patient service associates)
  • NOC 6513 (Food and beverage servers)
  • NOC 6711 (Food counter attendants, kitchen helpers and related support occupations)
  • NOC 6731 (Light duty cleaners)
  • NOC 7511 (Transport truck drivers),
  • NOC 7521 (Heavy equipment operators (except crane)), or
  • NOC 7611 (Construction trades helpers and labourers)
• have 1 year of work experience related to the job;
• be 21 to 55 years old;
• have a high school diploma;
• have the appropriate training, skills and/or accreditation for the job;
• prove language ability equal to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 4 even if your first language is English or French;
• show enough financial resources to successfully settle in Nova Scotia.
