It takes as long as it takes. There are no expected timelines, nor are any published. It could take months, depending on the level of security screening required (record check vs comprehensive check), and your nationality.

A reminder that due dates are system generated dates for when the GCMS is supposed to bring the application forward for an officer or analyst to check on a specific assessment. That said, they are essentially meaningless.

As a general rule, you should be studying now (or at least keeping the info fresh in your mind) as you know you'll get an invite to take a test (unless exempt). But you'll have plenty of time from when you get invited to take the test to do some studying.

Standard questioning: What do you do for work? Why do you need NEXUS? How often do you travel (to the US)? Do you still live at your address? Status in Canada.

A COPR is either IMM 5292 OR IMM 5688. Instructions you were given are clear, just take the COPR you have.

If you can get it when you soft land, why wouldn’t you? Do as much as you can prior to your permanent move. This includes getting a chequing account and a credit card for newcomers. TD and RBC are two banks with some good offers for newcomers.

Due dates are auto generated, and effectively meaningless to you.
