it is a shame that not many people are here who are currently residing in Canada and lived in the US past. I would love to see a quality of life comparison for relatively high earners.
I lived in the US before making a move to Canada. There are actually some comparison threads on the forum i believe, you might have to search them though.

In a nutshell, the standard of living in the US will generally be higher, but quality of life in Canada will be higher.

I have lived in both Canada and the US (both east coast). They were both HCOL areas with similar cost of living. The tech salaries in the US are much higher compared to Canada (and the rest of the world for that matter). Combine that with lower taxes, you save a lot more compared to Canada. However, savings is just one small (albeit important) part of the equation. The US also offers far more career opportunities. However socially, it was much easier to make friends and date in Canada than the US for me, not sure why.

When it comes to Canada, the biggest pull for me is immigration status and healthcare (and the political landscape to an extent).

are you looking forward to find something in Brampton? i heard something about this place tho, not sure but someone said it's completely occupied by many immigrants from a particular region
I will be going there initially, yes as my close relatives live there. I’ve heard all the horror stories but let’s experience it first hand.

And it is true, mostly clannish people huddled up there. I, for one do not like this. If you are immigrating you have to make the effort to assimilate.

That place is garbage, I am an Indian still I don't want to go there .I don't want to explain more.If I am you will think twice before moving there.
It ain't worth it.
I’m not looking to stay there for more than 6 months

I don't think a 1 bedroom has quite reached $2500 in Toronto region, unless you are speaking of some extremely posh localities.
I have first hand experience of Vancouver. Unless you are ready to travel for 1 hour daily minimum, its 2400- 2500+ now.

In Regina, I pay CAD1700 for our 3-bedroom lovely house in an "almost posh" neighbourhood :D . This cost includes all Utilities!
Vancouver.... its a messed up place.
