  1. Human Resources Manager (0112)
  2. Human Resources Professional (1122)
  3. Human Resources and recruitment officers (1223)

  2. Ontario
  3. New Brunswick
  4. Prince Edward Island
  5. Nova Scotia
  6. Quebec

I'm an HR Admin and I've been hoping for Alberta to give me NOI since April 2021. It's my only way to go since my CRS is below 400. I haven't heard much from the other HRs here though.

Hi Farseer,

Welcome to the thread. Started this so that people like you and me can benefit from this as there aren't any valuable inputs in the entire forum. And as far other HR's, they'll slowly come in.

Now, you mentioned you're an HR Admin which should put you in the NOC 1221 category, if I'm not mistaken. It would help if you could put in as much of your details as you can to be able to understand your case better. You've been waiting for an Alberta NOI since April 2021, so I'm assuming you've created an EE profile and have selected Alberta as one your interested province. It would help to me know when you created your EE profile. Since April'21 till date, Alberta has picked around 2,000 profiles across 10 draws i.e. 200 profiles/ draw. Further, no-one knows what is the criteria in which Alberta picks the profile. But generally speaking, all provinces are interested in either inland candidates, profiles who have some solid relationship in the province like blood relationships, high priority NOC's based on their current requirement (mostly medical staff). Also, since there are many back-logs in the pool and just small draws happening your turn might not have come yet. Assuming you've created an EE profile in Jan, 21, that puts you behind candidates who've created one from September'20.

My suggestion would be to not just be dependant on your Express entry profile but try sending an Expression of Interest directly to Alberta and wait for their response. Further, don't focus on just one province. I have put up the prospective provinces which seem to put our NOC's in priority. You could try Saskatchewan, Quebec or Nova Scotia also. Hope this helps.

Regards,

Joel

Hello, thank you for your views. I have applied to express entry and tagged all provinces on April 2021. I'm mostly interested in Alberta as I have cousins there. I could not claim points for them though as AB only recognizes close relatives (parents, siblings, children). I have no job offer, and am located outside of CA.
I am an HR admin, but I also have recruitment, so I chose HR Recruiter 1223. I'm also unsure of this as mostly, HR encompasses a lot of scopes that we are now more of an HR shared services. What about you?

Yes, I have applied as well in SINP, but since my Educ is not related to my HR job exp, they will also not consider. Plus, my points was I think only 64 and they've been picking 70 and above.

I have not delved deeply into NS and QB as I believe they need a valid job offer for you to get into their pool. So I'm grasping at straws actually, I wish AB could've been more transparent in their NOC draws.

Creating an EE profile and tagging all provinces is always 'THE' thing to do. Additionally, targeting individual PNP's and applying your Expression of Interest in each is promising. I have been surfing around and speaking to people who've done it and have said that folks with good CRS may rely and wait in the EE pool. However, for those who don't have a great score should apply to individual provinces of their interest.

Getting a job offer is out of the question for outland candidates like you and me. Well, I am in a similar situation as yours- I'm an HR Generalist/ Business Partner carrying out practically all parts of an HR role. But, since NOC's are too specific and don't include a comprehensive list of activities in it. I identified myself as 1121- HR Professional thinking it might have greater demand across provinces.

Now, regarding SINP I personally, don't qualify for the very same reason as yours. I'm a life science graduate with over 6 years work experience in HR. However, I'm pursuing a diploma in HRM to show that I have relevant education in my core functional area and that should work for SINP as well as in advancing once own career. So, if you have a Masters degree in HRM or an MBA you can easily apply under SINP too as it is easier and transparent than Alberta.

People with low CRS always opt for Alberta and wait a long time hoping they would get picked. You have relatives in Alberta, you said. But since you can't use them for additional points, it all the more make sense to apply to other provinces as well. After applying for EOI's in different provinces there'd still be a wait. If by then Alberta gives you a NOI, then nothing like it!

NS and QB don't require you to have a valid job offer. Please do read up more on it. Quebec may have their own reservations but Nova Scotia definitely would be welcoming.

Good day. My first Bachelor degree is in Economics (2010-2014) and the second one is in Law (2017-2019). My professional experience is related to Human Resources in general: started in Industrial Relations where I worked as a Specialist, Coordinator and Supervisor (2015-2019) and then moved to Talent Management group within HR (2019-current). Please advise which NOC would be the most appropriate for my case (FSW)? Can I choose NOC 1121 "Human Resources Professional" for my case? And what date should be written in the following question in Express Entry profile: "Date first became qualified to practice in this occupation?"

Hi There!

Too confused or the anxiety kicking in, eh?

  1. Regarding your NOC, the best way to choose the right one is to match your roles and responsibilities with that of Canadian NOC's. You would have to do that exercise yourself cause only you would know your job profile the best. Anything that matches 50-60% is good. Find your NOC here
  2. Since your education doesn't exactly match with your job, Its better that you put your date of joining as the date your first became qualified.
Hope I was able to answer your question with the clarity you needed.

Hi everyone. If anybody knows about NOC 1121, which province issuing NOI for this particular field? As my husband has this NOC and a sister in Alberta. Have made express entry but no luck since then. TIA

What is his CRS score? Masters? Alberta may be the only PNP program with a chance for ITA.

Too low for OINP and SINP. He will need ITA from Alberta. So the province has to select the NOC (don’t publish NOCs) and select a score of 308 when the minimum is 300.
Yes, I understand that. It's just that this particular NOC 1121 has not received NOIs from Alberta yet in my opinion. But finger crossed and hoping for the best.

CRS is low 308. He has done a Master's but equivalent to a bachelor's in Canada. I haven't seen NOIs in this NOC yet.
Did he get his ECA done from WES? Wes considers most master's degree as a bachelors. You can try other ECA agencies like CES/ IQAS for a masters equivalency. That way his CRS can increase by 25 points which will also increase his chances of getting an ITA from Alberta. Good luck!

Well, he did equivalency from CES. He studied for one year for Masters's so technically for 4 years of studies he's got a Bachelors's instead of a Masters's. I myself am NOC 5241, working for the last 7 years part-time and full time. But unfortunately, don't have the degree of Bachelors so I cant claim points. Any idea if any province accepting EOI for this NOC 5241? I know it's really hard to get in without any degree but still any chance? TIA

If you are NOC 5241 as primary applicant without a degree, are you even eligible for Express Entry? What is your score if he has 308 as primary applicant?
