I now see why it was so important for the liberals to lose the elections. I supported their re election thinking that cons will prove to be worse and make drastic changes that would adversely affect in process applications. Liberals are doing everything they can to rile up skilled workers more and more every day. I didn’t think things could change for the worse.

Wait why would you think cons would be worse for immigration? Not that I would vote con if I were Canadian, but they actually had an immigration plan, which at least in theory, would be far more effective than any shortsighted bullshit the Libs cooked up the last two years. Libs are just shooting in the dark, taking beach vacations, and focusing on whatever allows them to do more political grandstanding.

I was actually following that election night as if I was a Canadian lol. You don’t want the conservatives in charge. The liberals are shit at implementing immigration now but I’m sure the conservatives will kill FSW at this point and potentially make changes to the citizenship act. Family sponsorship will also likely become much harder. There’s already a crazy guy who’s against all immigration in the farther right who split their votes. Delay and poor execution is much better than killing everything off.

I honestly don’t think it was liberal’s goal to create the shitty 2021 policy, or else they would’ve taken advantage of the pandemic right at the beginning. That’s how trump did it, using pandemic as excuse to offer his immigration ideal. They tried following the method all through 2020 and ended up with low numbers. Trudeau probably said for them to do all it takes in 2021. Problem was, populism always gives you good media, and when papa Marco saw he could get good PR in a media less department like immigration by giving inlands freebies, it became his ideal.

Wanna see a gem of recent wise canadian immigration policies?

It is called short visit rule, ie rule for covid testing requirement for a short visit to usa.

"Canadian citizens, people registered under the Indian Act, permanent residents and protected persons travelling to the United States are allowed to do their pre-entry molecular test before they leave Canada."

So... As compared to TR plebs, master race Canadian citizens et al not only can better prevent getting infected by covid virus --even with same vaccine-- BUT their GOD DAMNED tests can detect covid EVEN BEFORE THE EXPOUSE!!!!

I mean, somehow Canadians can violate causality or travel faster than speed of light! What sorcery is this!
