True! "I think immigrants has more contributions than citizens as they bring more money and their initial settle down cost more than citizens" - capitalism as it's finest haha
Very true.....Not a huge difference in benefits between a PR / Citizen - other than voting rights, Canadian Passport (for travel) and maybe a working holiday / other working Visas to name a few. .....

You can move somewhere else where it's cheaper to live and comeback whenever, working for Canadian companies and earning salary in CAD
Also a lot easier to get work visa in the USA
I think it's really good thing to have lol
Expands your life forever and very broad (if you have 2 passports)

Those are main benefits for us...not for the govt.....

in fact detrimental to them....
hence the delay / lack of importance.

The stats for oath ceremonies look quite bad. Quebec has only issued 10 oath invitations since the beginning of the pandemic.
That's comically low, to be perfectly honest.

I feel that with the federal government worker vaccination mandate likely being announced today, things might change within the next three months (which is still a glacial pace). I feel like I should embark on another 'adventure' of sending a letter to reporters covering immigration issues (for example, Nicholas Keung over at the Toronto Star) just to see if there's any interest in covering this as a story.

Edit: Also going to try reaching out to Senator Ratna Omidvar, who seems pretty active and vocal on immigration-related issues as well, to see what she says on the matter.

@Maya88 Do you have a source for your info re: the 10 oath invitations for Quebec? If there's an official source, I could cite it when I draft a letter to him. Doing it mostly for giggles, because why not. :)

Sorry I meant the stats on the spread sheet. So it is not the actual number. but still shows a trend.
It's zero oath ceremonies all the way since the begining of the pandemic, except one random group of ten applicants from who applied Sep 10,2020 from gatineau . Other than those tens nothing else reported.

Whatever it is and wherever any stat is coming from, judging by other threads, I am sure there's not much activity going on with current citizenship process. I think IRCC is prioritizing on Afghanistan matters now.
