Hi Everyone, here my stats for my citizenchip application
20-August- citizenship test complete status updated
20-August-scheduled for citizenship test
27-April - background verification completed
17-Feb- application filed

I didnt receive a request for copies of passport until now , i didnt travel outside canada during the 3 years in the application.
Is that normal ? it means that they dont need more infomrations and i should expect the next step decision made soon ?

I put everything in a single file. Some tips for you:

a) Scan in 96 dpi specifically - most scanners often default to 150 dpi so it makes these huge files as a result.
b) Use free PDF compressor. This thing is black magic sorcery at compression.

If you're still struggling, DM me and (if you're okay with sharing your source files) I could take a stab at compressing it for you.
Thanks so much! I was successful in the end in compressing the PDF and sent it all in one document!

you are right. I am just wondering why is this progression suddenly stop! Why are not they working on to make this process stream lined!! at least get the passport processing system faster to begin with! Nothing at all anywhere of this department! it's like they running wide-open everywhere!
I would say it is good progression only if it moves for almost all the people and that too across months.....and that too quickly across stages
My guess - they wanted to show some progress.....moved some people (lucky) to the testing and made people wait. after test completion....of that population moved some people to DM made(luckier) and moved a subset of those offering them oath ceremony dates (luckiest) even if it is 6 months away....I understand and empathize that you had COVID, Elections and Refugee crisis, all more critical than processing citizenship applications, but somehow IRCC process is inefficient and not transparent.

Everyone nowadays is receiving a PP copy request, so I am not sure. They could ask at any point in time so have the scan and if needed translations ready so that there are no further delays from your side. Just wait and hope things move faster.

What's the rush? Lol isn't that what you said when we complained about delays last month? You seem to have changed your tune. You made a very elaborate post about how you were in no rush and that only "refugees" are in a hurry to get citizenship since they can't use their passport.
Whats the rush! Thankfully I am not in a position where I needed it badly (This way I calm down myself lol)
  • I can go back to my country whenever I want also can go to states since I have US visa lol.
  • I am not a refugee claimant (not to be disrespectful. trying to to say how grateful i am that life didn't put me into that situation!)
  • I have access to all benefits except voting (sure I can't vote but if I am sick or need education or EI, I know I have these options available!)
Sure having the Citizenship of Canada will open up more doors that I am not even aware of but thankfully we are living in a country where it could be far worse if we would live somewhere else.
Besides we can't do anything except to wait for the Oath invitation. Some people are lucky who are getting it more quicker than others but again no one should compare their life with other in any point of their life.

hehe. I am not rushing. if you see closely what I have been talking about you'll realize what my actual goal was. I was talking about other threads always but that doesn't mean I don't want Nov applicants move forward. If other threads are in backlog that means we'll be in stuck. Also i said "(This way I calm down myself lol)". Again whats the point being restless right. I have been on this forum long before you at least. I have seen people are struggling and being frustrated a lot. When someone put something positive it always helps them out if not making it worse. Because you can't do nothing once any process starts and you are in a limbo.

Completely understand your frustration ! Epecially when you see 2021 applicants or even DEC 2020 applicants already done with TEST and oath too you wonder why is not systematic!

You echo my thoughts.....I think the frustration levels will be much lesser if the process is first in first out....at least from a month perspective.....

Edit: Sometimes I feel that the good we are doing in collecting / reporting data increases the frustration for folks whose processing is not progressing....... Highly debatable......and just my thought

Looks like second time was the charm - had to retake my citizenship test (first time around got invalidated, added more details about what happened here) and it got marked as completed today :D

Now the next waiting game begins!
