Not relevant to this post but I've noticed that a lot of Indians are eager to leave their country. What motivates them to do so considering India is a strong economy and is much bigger than many western countries.
Lol, it's the stupid mentality and pressure from relatives. There is a culture of people moving out of India because it used to be so much easy in the early 2000s to settle in the US and UK and also that a ton of Indians have settled in gulf countries. I can tell you that there are plenty of good job opportunities in India so that is not the reason to move out.

If you do a 2years masters in the UK plus the 2years post-study visa, you should be able to land something to stay for longer than the cumulative 4years. I think we all need to look after our mental health first. This is becoming unbearable - the silence.
I'm looking for jobs mostly. Germany seems the most attractive with PR available after 2 years if your German skills are decent. UK is 5. After my experience in the US, I really don't want my stay in a country to be tied to my employment/education ... at least not for the long term.

I am pretty sure very little percentage of Indians try to immigrate comparing to people from different countries. If you calculate the actual % of people who want to immigrate and compare it to thee population of the country.

Plus Indians know English so it gives them very huge advantage.

I'm just curious to know. Maybe it's the sheer number of Indian people living in the country and even a small percentage of them seem like too many people when they immigrate abroad.
I'll let the true indians speak. 1 thing I know is that many ppl from China (CN hasabout the same population size as IN, constantly shares top 2 spots with India in terms of no. of overseas students) now have a diminishing drive to fully commit to remaining overseas regardless of the circumstances. Their wait for US GC ranges from 3 to 6 yrs (in extreme cases 8 ish), but fewer and fewer ppl can stand that. Their resolve might be half of Indians' or less.

There are also certain businesses called ICCs (Indian consulting companies) that are quite famous in the States. You can look it up.

Now go figure...

May have been true in the 90s or 2000s but not much anymore.

People mostly do it for the lifestyle these days and for the things which you can't buy - clean air, green surroundings, work life balance, public infrastructure, powerful passport, etc.

As for jobs, at least in my field, there are better (and better paid) jobs in India than in any Western country apart from the USA. Yet, there are things that money can't buy :)

India's economy is big because of its population. India's GDP per capita is pretty ordinary. India also lags behind the West in terms of infrastructure and HDI.

You encounter a lot of Indians on the path to immigration to Anglo countries because
1) there are a lot of us (1 in 5 people in the world are Indian) and
2) a lot of Indians speak English as a second language as a colonial legacy
I imagined it to be much more developed and modernized now compared to old India that is often stereotyped in the movies.
A lot of Indians speak English but they are still happy moving to the Gulf and European countries where the language is not used as much? Sorry for my ignorance

Mehn I'm frustrated, sad and might be depressed. No processing of fsw-o applications and no draws, no comments either. I cannot believe IRCC is a government organisation in a first world country.

I just don't know how to take out my vexation.

Canada is often, semi-jokingly, referred to as a 2nd world country.

It's a mixed bag. You can watch some YouTube videos of Indian cities to get an idea. You can do and enjoy a lot of things in India if you're relatively wealthy but not everything.

I don't see a whole lot of Indians going to Europe apart from UK/Ireland. The numbers are much lower compared to Anglo countries. As for the Gulf, I don't know much about it but the majority of indians there are manual laborers just trying to save some money to send back home.

Is he and other consultants running of “We pay taxes” CEC clients?
IMHO, these forever hopeful hashtag is too cringe.

I saw his post announcing that CEC draw yesterday, the guy was pretty upset. I don't really follow his group but he seemed really nervous about it.

I doubt if that's the case...But I'm also willing to find out.

GC in 8 years? Are you out of your mind? For Chinese and indian nationals GC is 35-40 years
