Waiting for my AOR. Application submitted may 18.
is there anything I can do to get status of my application?
I see so many June people already have their AOR’s.

Also, my application has 7 months of daily travel to US (returned back same day - work). these days are being counted as presence . Can this be a reason for delay?

That is very likely the reason. I had some travel listed on my application as well and received my AOR quite late (Sep 1) in comparison to people who'd applied around the same time (May 3). I only received the AOR the day I filled the webform asking about it. So maybe do that?

Not saying your days in the US don't count towards days in Canada by the way (since you slept in Canada the night of the travel).

I just mean to say listing travel could possibly require them to look at the file more critically to ensure one has the required days.

- Your passport from your current country of citizenship (let's call it HOME country) has nothing to do with Canadian Citizenship application. You are not a Canadian Citizen until you do your oath. So you can keep using your old passport until your oath date as long it is still valid and not expired.
- Canada allows dual citizenship so you can actually possess a Canadian passport and passport from HOME country as long as your HOME country allows for dual citizenship.

For example -
1. A US Citizen who applies to become a Canadian Citizen can continue using both US and Canadian Passports. As both US and Canada allows dual Citizenship.
2. An Indian Citizen who applies to become a Canadian Citizen cannot continue using their Indian passport when they take an oath to become Canadian Citizen. They will be required by Indian law to renounce their Indian Citizenship and surrender their Indian passport.
3. A Pakistani Citizen can possess both passports and can continue using them as both countries allow dual citizenship.

And the list goes on...

Thanks a lot. So being Indian, oath is the key date for me. I've plans to travel during Christmas... let's see how things move here for us...

Has anyone here who applied online had their application returned?
I still haven't got my AoR and I'm wondering whether that means my application was missing something. And someone told me when that is the case they typically return the application sooner. So I was wondering if anyone has any experience or has heard of returned online applications

Hi ,

I went through this link - Sign in to your status tracker (cic.gc.ca) with my UCI number and password , where things are " In progress" .

Application Filed date is July 16 , 2021 ( No idea about this date )

In the tracker, I can see Jan, Feb and Mar applicants who have got test invites. No one from the Apr list got yet, so I guess maybe another 3 months before we start receiving the same.
