Oh no, I can't believe the score was so high. Moment of silence for all the hardworking CECs who were waiting for days for this draw only for the score to be so unfairly high. They worked so hard to get 350 and this is how IRCC rewards them? Disgusting

COPR is tied to validity of your passport, medicals, PCC etc., it may be valid from anywhere between 1 and 12 months.
Thanks. My medical has expired for months already, I'll see how things go.

Interestingly, if they have an all program draw with 3000 candidates, the score will be above 500 for that first draw. This is crazy

There would always be enough CEC candidates in the pool; but it seems IRCC has had enough of Grandpas'; the CEC draws were almost becoming like the PGP program. Marco had to intervene lol
The only thing Marco would intervene for is to make it easier for CEC/inland. Fuck FSWs. This is not hyperbole, there was recently official talk of how it's discriminatory to only pick the top scoring candidates. Some TR to PR people were complaining about how it's so tough to get a good IELTS score to qualify. Bud if you've lived in an english speaking country for years and still struggle to get an IELTS score just to qualify (forget about an actual good score), that's on you and whatever excuses you make to justify your laziness.

A friend of mine had applied under PNP in April this year and his medical was not updated in his profile until today (almost after 4months).
Maybe it's a good news for us as well! I hope they start working on our files too!

Your COPR will probably be valid only for 2-6 months. Since it will be open to tourists, you will probably be better off doing a soft landing.
Can you explain this with more clarity ? Is landing after COPR and a 'soft landing' different ? Is COPR validity different for every case ?

I have been working in Canada for past 3 years now... soon to be 4. I wanted to apply in 2020 but that meant PCC. And that meant my father had to go out and visit police station in middle of a pandemic. And that meant risk to him and mother and rest of the family. Lost few folks to Covid, so did not want to risk it. Now they are vaccinated and Pandemic is somewhat little better in India so took the chance. PCC is on the way... rest what God wishes.
Congratulations man! God bless you

Both are same, soft landing means you get your COPR stamped and activate your PR status and leave the country immediately from the airport itself.

I guess they reduce the size from 4500 to 3000 is because they do not want the low score apps like below 400, maybe more and more sounds from different fields have affected the IRCC's decision.

Maybe. But in my opinion it doesn't have to do with the CRS scores. Megadraw showed us that IRCC really doesn't care about how qualified and young the immigrants are (which totally defeats the purpose of skilled immigration that Canada needs). Any CEC app received after Sept isn't likely to be given a PPR before 2021 ends so they can't help meet 2021 targets. So IRCC sees no point in inviting low score CECs this year; they'll soon go back to high-score FSW draws because they'll all go into 2022 targets.

Hope it's because they are preparing to shift the processing capacity to finalize outland applications, although I think it is extremely unlikely.
When I looked into the internal doc which contains info about the grouping of overseas applications into A, B and C, it clearly says they are gonna start finalizing applications when COPR/PRV holders are exempt from travel ban. But we haven't seen any significant movement after the COPR travel ban was cancelled in June. It's been a while now. Some say when travel restrictions are removed for tourists, IRCC will move as well. Now I wonder if they will use vaccination as an excuse, as the planned September reopening is only for vaccinated travelers.

This whole situation is a mess, and I sure hope you're correct. For now, I'd say that all of us would benefit from giving this a break and waiting until September to see what happens. If nothing changes I guess that some of us will decide to put Canada on the back burner. At the rate this is going I don't even know how my life is going to look like when and if I can land, who knows if moving will still make sense or not.

If learned one thing from IRCC's moves this year, it is that they care about meeting their targets so much, like that silly number means so much to them that they'd even invite grandpas. Based on that, folk who have CoPR/PPR right now will likely land this year because 2021 targets are at risk otherwise. People who get ITA after Sept will likely land in the second half of 2022. I say not bad.

This is the June 21 update: If you hold a valid (not expired) Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) and visa, you can travel to Canada as of June 21, 2021.
I'm thinking this announcement really didn't have anything to do with IRCC planning to issue more COPRs at the time; it was just a travel permission for those with existing COPRs. Due to the border restriction they probably decided not to issue any more COPRs until the international travel restrictions were lifted; if they continued handing out PPRs and COPRs a lot of these would have expired before the border re-opening commences and that would be more workload for IRCC.

Since vaccination will be a prerequisite to be eligible to enter Canada as tourist in September, do you think they'll apply the same to PR applicants? If so, we'll have to wait much longer. I mean recognized vaccine is not always available for overseas applicants. PR applicants are stuck in this weird situation, when students and temporary workers can enter, albeit having to go through quarantine if not vaccinated, PR applicants are just ignored.
