There is hardly any activity on the forums from 2019 applicants only 2-3, its mostly 2020 or 2021 . I consider the status true for paper applicants

We’re currently finalizing most applications we received between
May 12 and 18, 2019
If your application is complex, it may take us longer to process it.

while 2020/2021 is different coz they are online. Perhaps that is what the agent meant yesterday when she said u cant compare to those applicant.
During Jan-Mar 2021, lot of applicants of later 2019 were getting tests. I thought that when we 2020 receive test invites, 2019 would move to oath.
well i do see movement in May 2019 applications that means that status is true. I do not disagree with you but at this time anything from IRCC is possible. Guess they are working parallel simultaneously on all applications.
WHen they dont move the 2019 to oath then i dont see that they work parallel to 2019 instead they leave behind many 2019 and 2020 and moving to end of 2020. If they work on all month of 2020 then they can never finish older applications. No logic, not organized after decades of experience.
Yes as you said, anything is possibly with cic.

I was invited to participate in the test of a "new tool", I am eligible for this test because I am awaiting a decision for my citizenship application ... And also because I am able to pass a video call ....

In short, I was invited to send an email with my availability ...

What do you think it is? ... I hesitate to send the email ... But if it can speed up my case, I sure would ....

What do you think, friends? Has anyone ever had a similar invitation?

Well, it will be useful for the testing process in general if you provide your feedback but I can't say it'll specifically your application. I think they'll be asking about the feedback about the virtual test tool.

I did send an email thinking I will be testing a new version of their software. I got the following email later:

IRCC is looking to talk to people who struggled writing the online citizenship test, especially those who did not pass. If this is you, or someone you know, and you can spend 30 minutes talking to us about your experience, please reply to this email and tell us
  • · When the online citizenship test was taken
  • · The score
  • · If you are referring someone else, their email address

Participation is anonymous and will not affect your application; we want to talk to you to understand your struggles so that we can improve the experience for everyone applying for citizenship.

You’re receiving this email because you have indicated your interest in testing a new product with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada to help improve services.

Thank you!
Since I didn't write the test, I didn't reply back.

This testing of a new product in no way fastens your citizenship application process. I have clarified that with ircc as i did test one of their other tool " the new ecas systems" . It's just voluntary...

I had signed up for this but at the time, I hadn't written the test.

May be I'll sign up again now, since I've completed the test

Anything new to improve the situation? People from December 2020 are getting the test, we have been waiting since 2019 and nothing . Silence.

I called ircc and they told us they delayed because of covid and currently prioritizing other categories. What an excuse. Looking to fb group, moat of people who got the test are late 2020 and from European decent. Am i crazy here? What is going on ?

An important KPI for them is the "delivery standard" of 80% done within 12 months. They seem to have decided that for 2019 applications it is already too late to look good in terms of performance measurements, but for 2020 applications it still can be done. You will soon hear them tell of how, despite the challenges of covid, they met the standard for 2020 applicants! (They just won't say anything of the buried 2019 applicants.)

This seems the only explanation of all the unfair selections that's happening. They want to do things to look good. That's it. They don't care (or even actually realize) there are humans behind the numbers they use for the applications.

While I recognize the "forecast" about what IRCC will say was really just another derisive snipe, not far from schoolyard taunting and generally not deserving acknowledgement let alone comment, to be clear there is a high probability the IRCC report for the fiscal year April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021 will be no better, and quite likely significantly worse than what they currently report for the fiscal year April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020, which is that they processed just 65% of fully complete, routinely processed applications within the 12 month TARGET service standard. To put that in perspective, Covid-19 had no impact on processing applications until near the very end of that time period.

Obviously, no crystal ball necessary to see that IRCC did not do so well this past year, not nearly as well as it was doing prior to the impact of the global pandemic.

For anyone placing bets on who will be exposed as the liar here, remember the forecast/snipe comes from a source who deliberately makes false or misleading posts, such as falsely claiming there was a Canada Supreme Court decision dictating particular procedural standards for processing citizenship applications (spoiler alert: there is no such decision). In contrast, any Canadian (including PRs in Canada) can submit an ATI request for information specifically in regards to the full data set for what IRCC reports, and examine, review, analyze, and evaluate the report, the data, and a whole lot of other information. IRCC will reveal its sources.

Making such a request requires doing some homework, and may require some payment of costs, but this is precisely the kind of information the ATI procedure is intended to give the public access. It is also precisely the kind of information which genuine activists need and can use to advance the cause here, to encourage IRCC to do a better job processing citizenship applications timely. Make no mistake, letters to MPs, efforts to solicit media attention, and generally making the case to others who can be encouraged to add their voice, their concern, to the cause . . . make no mistake, communication based on real information, actual data, is the ONLY way to effectively push this cause. The blowhard baloney in sound bites trimmed for the attention-impaired will NOT help. Period. This is so blatantly obvious, so clearly counterproductive, it is likewise obvious that the purveyors of such tripe are deliberately engaged in disruption and distraction.

Sure, I realize that blowhard baloney in sound bites trimmed for the attention-impaired is nonetheless popular, but for those who are genuinely interested in being informed about these matters, and using that information to advance the effort to hold IRCC accountable, for those who really do care, doing the homework, getting real data, real information, and incorporating what is learned into credible arguments, that is the path to effective advocacy. Anything else is inane trollesque distraction.

Contrary to unfounded slander, I can and do read the room. I understand that the more vociferous participants here are indeed more focused on spouting scorn than pursuing effective advocacy. (I cannot help wondering, though, if there are more than a few Americans among them, since the empty rhetoric, the unbridled disdain, and disregard for what might actually accomplish anything positive, let alone disassociation from fact, so emphatically echoes what we see happening to our south.) But there is a REAL PROBLEM. And while it is readily apparent that IRCC has picked up the pace considerably, it sure appears they need some pressure to do better, a lot better. Some real accountability is called for.

I know there are many in this forum who have applications bogged down and who are frustrated for good reason. They DESERVE a discussion focused on getting the best information available. They deserve a concerted and coordinated effort to effectively advocate for improvements at IRCC. It is time for someone to step up and get some real data. Let's see some real homework.
