Caregiver work permit - extension

Hi all! I would like to ask if I need a new LMIA. I was only given six months for my work permit because my passport is expiring. Do I need a new LMIA to extend my work permit to finish my contract (needs 18 more months)

Some say I just ask for an updated contract and a letter from the employer and use the old LMIA.

Yes, you can do that with an updated contract and Old LMIA. the best route will be to submit a webform and ask. The representatives will send you a package of documents which they will need to extend.
