After months of wait my husband finally was asked for his medical and forms update. We also got pre arival letter.
Today my husband gave his medical but he received a form to take sputum test. 3 tests in july (5,6,7) and then redo xray on sept 30.

Is this worrying? Why this test?

I am so worried and drained. I cant take the wait anymore. 3 more months of wait? Seriously? When is this damn process going to end.
When did you guys win the appeal?

Another Dec 2020 case moved, but they still not finalize the case opened on Sep 2020? That's so ridiculous.

First of all congratulations. Also when did you win your appeal.

Not to be personal, how old is your husband. Maybe due to age certain tests are required...just speculating

Thank you. I dont even know if to celebrate anymore. I have given up. I won my appeal is dec 2020

My husband is 33

Can anyone let me know if you know of this sputum test? Is it serious to my case? Will they put my case on hold again?
Maybe its due to Covid as this is a respiratory test that checks your lungs. Is he a smoker. Maybe its a precaution so immigrants are not going to drain the Canadian Health Care system. If he is in perfect health then you have nothing to worry about. Be positive.

I am not worried about this test. Yes he is a smoker. But i am drained from the waiting. Another 3 months just to complete medical? 5 years in this process im done. I cant even stay positive anymore.

My friend, don't worry to much about this. I have seen a lot of people do the test because they found some dot in the lungs x-ray. This is only time consuming.
Any way, you are luck than me. I still haven't received anything from them since last Nov.

This process is ridiculous. Canada needs to work on their process because this is not right. People have been waiting for years even after approval. How pathetic. My sister in law applied for norway visa. Got it in 6.months and passport received 3 daya after her approval. No medical bs.
Why cant canada be this quick? I hate our sponsorship system

It's most likely tuberculosis came up positive, search for latent TB. It doesn't mean he'll be refused but there may be medical follow-up in Canada.

They said they saw a dot in the lungs so they want to be sure.
So now ircc wont proceed with my process until after the xray in sept? Do i inform ircc because in the medical.report lettwr i havw 30days to do the exam. But now we have this bs test to do as well.

I believe the clinic will inform IRCC of the first bit of medicals done but can't say for certain. You might search for latent TB how the process goes, this is not that uncommon. Yes, it will take longer.

May or may not be BS but Canada won't admit a PR who possibly could have communicable TB. If you want to speed things up, it's the clinic/hospital that would seem to be the delay right now.

I just wanna say that I’m really sorry that it happened to you. Please stay strong, you’re so close to be done with it! In some countries people don’t regularly do x-rays as we do in Russia. So maybe it’s a good thing that they noticed something because I think people in Canada don’t do these tests often. There’s a chance this exam saved his life.

I know it’s hard, and while Canada has a lot they can improve on, it isn’t in many ways realistic to compare other countries to each other. While there are definitely cases in Canada that take two years (or more) there are also cases that take three months, just as I doubt every case in Norway is six months. It’s so case by case dependant.

Canada can be strict, but there are others that are, as well. I remember lots of controversy with people having a hard time in New Zealand, even being refused and delayed for being overweight. (They seem to consider that a strain on the health care system, according to my NZ spouse) and one poor guy from NZ I know is still fighting the system trying to get his American wife who has kidney problems over there.

I’m sure every country has its own stories, even though I know that’s not much of a comfort.

Hopefully all the tests go well and it’ll be clear sailing from there to give you some hope again!

Is there a spreadsheet to track applications going through the appeal process? I just haven't seen many people as before.
