Hi,
What is your timeline?
Applied in july2020 Haven't received any correspondence from IRCC yet. When I called them I was given my application number verbally on Dec 25th. Application went in process on Jan 10th. Every check is still in progress.

Many people are still waiting for BG. The issue is not only BG, I know even many people from Dec 2019 with completed BG, are still waiting for test invite. I believe it is not just random and there is more story behind this. On the 500 pages email that someone shared they used the term “low risk client” and I assume they only categorize people by their nationality which is discriminatory. The pandemic just has cleared this.

I was thinking BG is the only problem too. But as you said there are many applicants with completed BG waiting still ...

I think IRCC has system access where they check 'CIT criminality check' and 'CIT security check' and these checks take about ~5 minutes and these are normal 'Record Checks' by IRCC. During CIT criminality check if your name matched with someone else you get FP, otherwise you pass criminality and if you show up in their database for whatever reason they send you for 'comprehensive criminality check'. Same is the case for CIT security check but here you can be under comprehensive security check for unknown reasons.

i don't believe the delay is due to some " reason of security" --its just they are overwhelmed as things are not working as it should as people working from home, so less efficient, i guess, if things resume the normal way, only then backlogs will be cleared. They are sending test invites to as many people as they can

Before covid a comprehesnive check could take up to 1.5-2 year. The question is why they send some applicants for this without a reason. I had the same thing 2 years ago for pr application and the process was long long (more than a year).

If before COVID it was taking 1-2 years then we should be looking for 2-3 years now OMG. I wish I would have chosen Australia over Canada but its toooo late now.

Was your PR security check more than a year? Or the whole PR process?
