Quick question, if I have sent the application online in January 15th of this year and have not received an AOR yet, do I wait or shall I send an application now via paper (post)?

I am really torn. I originally submitted the application using their online system as I was under the impression it will be quicker but now looks like applications submitted via paper are processed faster than online (which is really bizarre), I am seriously debating to send another one via post. what do you guys think?

They’ve already started sending out AORs for January applicants. It’s also on their website that you shouldn’t send a paper application after you’ve submitted an online one and vice versa. If you send a paper one now, it could cancel out your previous online application, and you have to wait all over again. Just be more patient, you’re almost there.

Thank you, do you happen to know what was the last AOR received for January apps (which date in January was the latest)?

Latest one i’ve seen was January 10. But not in this forum. I believe the ones in the tracker is January 4.

I applied on Jan 8th, got my AOR June 13th. I think I’m the last person on this forum to get an AOR from January online applications. But from what I’ve heard, an applicant (outside of this forum) who applied on Jan 10th has received their AOR too.

Don't worry Kodi, it just takes 6 to 12 months for AORs progress to move 1 day. You applied on the 15th, the last guy AORed was on the 10th, then 5 days are between only 2.5 yrs to 5 yrs. You will get an AOR before 2026 and hopefully your full process by 2036. If we don't get AOR by 2036, we can call to ask

Hi there,

If you have receiving the AOR email the attachment in that should have the application number. This is the new application tracker system that CIC is now offering for applicants. It has more details than ECAS status. I received this email as well and I was able to create an account.

In fact in these two mails there are no additional "personal" information and AOR for my two electronic applications were not received. Previously (in March) I have received two mails for my small kids with paper application (having their application number), but at least it was clear whom this e-mail is addressed (like Dear XXX XXX), but this latest e-mails were for "Dear client", so I start to think that this is kind of reminder for those old paper applications, stating that it is possible to use their tracking system, and not a new information about my electronic applications. We'll see...

I believe if your email has been used for your kid’s application, then the Citizenship Application Tracker email you received is pertaining to their application. My son’s AOR was sent thru mail and I received it in my email, followed by the Citizenship apppication tracker email but haven’t received my online application AOR yet.

Yes, unfortunately I am almost 100% sure that this e-mail is related to the standard paper application of my kids, that indeed started processing at that time according to the tracker. Since my wife has also received her notification of the same kind. Sorry for those (and me) who have hoped that it is related to our long-awaited electronic AOR ...

Woke up this morning with an email from IRCC - Opened it hoping it was a test invite.. Turned out to be a notification about the new status tracking system which everyone already knew about for over a month... lol!!
